About the role:
We are currently seeking a Communications Director. In this position, you will oversee producing high-quality content that engages customers and builds brand recognition. The Communications Director must have a solid background in writing. We are seeking someone who is a detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task effortlessly. The Communications Director has the ability to spearhead PR campaigns, come up with engaging press releases, and deliver monthly reports.
What you'll be doing:
- Blog and white paper creation
- Press release creation and distribution
- Coordinate with community entities and the media for PR opportunities
- Collaborate with marketing manager for website and campaign copy
- Responsible for creation and upkeep of company bios, boiler plates, and other public facing written materials
- Social media manager – responsible for content creation (in coordination with Marketing Manager), active social engagement, and overall social publishing
Who we're looking for:
- Someone who balances team and individual responsibilities
- Someone who has contacts in national media organizations (print, digital, and television)
- Someone who has experience in either B2B or telecom/tech
- Someone who has written several whitepapers and blogs focused on building brand awareness, thought leadership and for SEO purposes
- Someone who has worked as the liaison with a PR firm in the past and can handle creating deadlines for themselves as well as the agency
- Someone who will work the marketing manager and GM on social media messaging, reviewing and producing content for sales and marketing email campaigns
- Someone who attends events with and on behalf of the executive team
- Someone who finds opportunity's for awards and recognition
- Someone who has excellent verbal and written communication and follow up skills
- Someone who has the ability to adhere to deadlines, handle multiple priorities and manage high volume purchasing activity with confidence
- Someone who is comfortable with a lot of writing in a short time frame
- Someone with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
- Someone who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Someone who develops realistic action plans
- Someone who is proactive and ambitious — doesn’t need to be micro-managed
- Someone who can handle multiple projects and priorities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Degree (associates or bachelors) in related field; communications/PR/Journalist
· Highly proficient writer and copy editor
- 2-5 years of prior communications experience
- Highly proficient across all social platforms – can demonstrate prior campaign or account management experience
· Previous experience in PR/media relations is a huge bonus
· Must be a fast writer able to meet quick turnaround deadlines (must work well under pressure)
