Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Consumer Law Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in all aspects of consumer law cases. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage a high caseload, and a passion for advocating on behalf of consumers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing consumer law cases from intake through resolution, including organizing case files, maintaining deadlines, and preparing case summaries.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, gathering necessary documentation, and addressing client inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant consumer protection laws, regulations, and precedents to support case strategies.
  • Drafting and Filing: Prepare legal documents, including demand letters, complaints, discovery requests, responses, and motions; file documents with courts and administrative agencies as required.
  • Discovery and Evidence Management: Assist in the discovery process, including document review, organization, and preparation for production; maintain evidence files and ensure all exhibits are properly cataloged.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials by organizing exhibits, drafting trial binders, and coordinating witness arrangements.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on changes to federal and state consumer protection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and other applicable regulations.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties, including calendaring, scheduling, and managing correspondence related to consumer law cases.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field. Paralegal certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in consumer law or related fields (personal injury experience is a plus).
