Job Description:
The Lifelong Learning team teaches Latinx adults English, Spanish Literacy, Math, Computer Skills and more. A strong connection with Colorado Mountain College propels students to pursue their GED, higher education, and professional certifications to improve their employment prospects. Lifelong Learning acts as a launchpad for immigrant adults who have big dreams for themselves and their families.

The Lifelong Learning Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing curriculum to address the specific needs of our adult participants. This curriculum should fulfill the participant's educational, developmental, and social needs. The Lead Teacher also supervises assistant teachers and volunteers who work in their classroom. This position requires office and in field work, from Rifle to Basalt, to allow for staff observations, mentoring, support, and connecting with families.

Schedule: 
This is a 40-hour a week position, Monday through Friday. This position requires availability during programming hours from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with some evening availability required. Times subject to change based on programming needs.
               
Job Duties:
Responsible for teaching Adult Basic Education, Pre-GED, ESL, Math, Computer Literacy 
Develop curriculum and create lesson plans 
Plan and prepare relevant and practical lessons based on life skills and monitor student’s performance
Implement a variety of instructional delivery methods, that include group or individualized instruction as well as computer programs that help students make learning gains
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Creating a climate that encourages and supports learning 
May lead and direct the work of others
Complete and maintain appropriate participant registration, attendance, and assessment records, and ensure timely submission of data input
Responsible for effective classroom management that enhances student learning 
Share feedback with teachers, volunteers and program manager regarding participant feedback, interest, community trends, etc.
Coordinate space rentals and partner agency agreements with program manager
Manage all program technology and equipment
Act as a support to students when seeking outside connections with agencies
Attend in-service, staff meetings and staff trainings
Provide list of program supplies in a timely manner to program manager
Coordinate student field trips outside of class time
Refer students to Family Support Team, as needed
Submit periodic written reports to program manager on program activities
Perform other duties as assigned by the program manager

  Minimum Requirements:
Degree in education or other related field. 
Bilingual in English and Spanish, written and verbal communication
ESL Certification
1 year or more of teaching experience
Must be computer literate in the following applications: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Documents)
Ability to teach students of diverse abilities and backgrounds and overcome barriers to success in a multi-level class 
Ability to build a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Ability to relate well to different groups of students of different ages and ability levels
Maintain a clean and professional classroom environment.
Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Enthusiasm for the subject material that will foster a love of learning by students.
Knowledge of adult learners and alternative educational methods and have the ability to apply these methods for adult and multicultural students
Maintain professional relationships with external partners
Work as a team and independently
Team-player who will collaborate with colleagues
Believe in professional growth 
Maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license must have a reliable vehicle

Salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000, based on qualifications and previous related work experience.
