About the team

VECKTA enables commercial and industrial energy users to evaluate the best energy transition pathways and connects buyers with providers of capital, equipment, and services to deploy renewable-led onsite energy systems. We are building our sales team to engage prospective customers, qualify their needs and fit with VECKTA, onboard them into the VECKTA platform and enable them to gain better energy outcomes efficiently. 

About the role

On a typical day, Business Development Managers engage with commercial and industrial businesses in the role of trusted advisor to help them accelerate their energy transition. You will help influence our product strategy with feedback and intelligence gathered from the market and refine processes to help our users and the VECKTA team 10x their impact. If you have a bias toward action, enjoy moving fast, and have demonstrated success in sales and business development, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll do

The primary responsibility of Sales and Business Development is to drive revenue which is primarily generated through platform access subscriptions, onsite energy assessments and marketplace transactions. Responsibilities include:

  • Selling with the support of the executive team, advisors and technical team 

  • Learn quickly, apply feedback, take initiative and embrace technology

  • Manage the entire sales process and pipeline

  • Utilize warm leads from the team, partners and marketing, to pitch, demo, present, and win new business

  • Lead generation and self-generated opportunities through prospecting, networking and identifying strategic partnerships

  • Influence the continuous improvement of VECKTA by bringing industry trends and client feedback to the team

Success in this role means accelerating the deployment of distributed energy systems, and the transition to a more resilient, lower carbon future. You will use your sales skills to help qualify VECKTA users and ensure they get the absolute most out of our platform. You will be an empowered decision maker to act on your experience to manage market dynamics, identify opportunities, and capture them to grow the market.

This role will work closely with our:

  • Strategy and Operations team, who connect commercial and industrial energy users to the capital, equipment and services they need to build onsite energy systems

  • Capital Markets team, who ensure efficient funding of projects

  • Modeling team, who complete technical and economic site prioritization and project onsite energy project assessments

  • Product team, who plan and manage the development of our technology platform

  • Selling into manufacturing companies

  • Selling into REITs or other large asset owners

  • Selling software into sustainability, facilities, operations or energy teams

Qualifications and experience:

  • This role is best suited to a sales professional with existing experience and relationships (energy users in the commercial and industrial sectors)

  • Enterprise sales expertise - software/C&I energy background ideal

  • Experience building relationships with and selling to senior decision makers

  • Experience managing the entire sales process and pipeline of opportunities

  • A strong and persuasive communicator

  • Driven with a desire to succeed and grow within the business

  • Proven sales track record
