SUMMARY
At Camp Cayton, our innovative curriculum encourages campers to take risks, express themselves creatively, and work as a team to accomplish goals. We offer a variety of art programs, themed lessons, crafts, and museum activities, so that your camper will be engaged, experience self-discovery, as well as social, emotional, and creative growth.
The CIT is responsible for assisting Camp Counselors with managing a group of 10-20 children each day, ensuring the safety and well-being of each camper, and facilitating activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create a welcoming camp experience with the safety, health, well-being, and happiness of each camper in mind.
· Under direction of Camp Counselors, guide campers through a daily schedule which includes activities, snack time and lunch time.
· Gather and prepare materials and facilitate and adjust daily activities as necessary to engage participants of varying skill levels in a one-on-one, small, or large group setting.
· Recognize and encourage opportunities for individual and group problem solving and creative expression.
· Observe, anticipate, and guide behavior in alignment with Camp Cayton philosophies, alerting Play Guides to more serious needs for behavior management.
· Responsible for set-up, clean-up, and maintenance of program materials each day.
· Ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere.
· Maintain a positive attitude and have fun!
· Other duties as assigned as it relates to Camp Cayton program goals and objectives
REQUIREMENTS · Must be at least 14 years or older. · Must be available to attend a 2-hour CIT training prior tong TIME COMMITMENT · During business hours (9am-5pm), any weekday. · Average of 10-25 hours a week.
