JOB SUMMARY


The Cayton Children's Museum is seeking an Individual Giving Manager to carry out fundraising activities and deepen our donor stewardship and cultivation efforts. In collaboration with the Development Coordinator and Director, the Individual Giving Manager will support execution of the department’s annual fundraising strategy to help raise more than $4M in contributed revenue annually, with a strong focus on individual giving, major gifts, and annual membership.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Engages with and support development leadership in meeting and/or exceeding annual fundraising goals.
  • Manages all stewardship and recognition programs for various individual donor constituencies, with the goal of retaining donors, building affinity, and strengthening philanthropic relationships to grow donor base.
  • Coordinates and facilitates cultivation strategies and responsibilities under the guidance of the Development Director to ensure regular touch points with key prospects.
  • Directly oversees the philanthropic membership program with a focus on securing individual gifts under $5,000 and building the major donor pipeline (gifts > $5,000). 
  • Supports our President & Founder in management and oversight of the Board of Directors, including recording all activity and preparing communications and materials to support their efforts.
  • Works with Development Coordinator to produce donor and prospect reports, analyzing such data as giving history, investment, gift capacity and wealth indicators to make informed recommendations for fundraising approach.
  • Manages donor relations and stewardship for all major event fundraisers, including pledge confirmation emails, payment reconciliation, event communications and updates, table/seating assignments, and post-event follow-up.
  • Supports the Development Director in the management of all solicitation mailings, including working with committees on prospect lists and personalized notes; generating a clean, organized, and accurate master list; organizing invite/letter stuffing; facilitating the mailing; and measuring response.
  • Serves as main point of contact for all online fundraising platforms (Charity Buzz, IfOnly, etc.)
  • Additional duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-3 years' work experience as a Development Coordinator or Manager.
  • Prior donor stewardship and database management experience with a solid understanding of the donor lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other standard office software, systems, and collaboration tools; as well as proficiency with CRM systems; Blackbaud Altru CRM experience a plus.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate institutional knowledge, confidence, and integrity.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with strong self-direction and a desire to take initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills; proven experience in project management.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while paying close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and function effectively in an environment demanding a high-energy level, discretion, flexibility, and superior work.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and form insights to make educated decisions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The person in this position must be able to:

  • Move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, storage shelves, etc.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Communicate via telephone, video conference, email, and in-person.
  • Stand for sustained periods of time during special events and fundraisers (if applicable).


COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

Salary range is $22-$24/hr. Comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; retirement plan; health and childcare flexible spending accounts; vacation and sick days; plus more. The Individual Giving Manager is a full-time, non-exempt position. Usual work schedule is typical business hours, Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends, as needed. Candidates will be expected to work in-office, unless otherwise instructed.
