The Communications & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the organization’s annual marketing and development strategy, working to effectively convey our core message and build brand identity through internal and external communications. This is a full-time position and is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to learn and gain skills in philanthropy, communications, and purpose-driven marketing strategy and execution. 



  • Helps to distill our work into clear, thoughtful and compelling messaging tailored to different audiences and platforms.  

  • Coordinates the development and production of key donor and stakeholder materials, including progress reports, impact studies/stories, case statements and fundraising decks.  

  • Acts as copy editor and proofreader on all institutional and external-facing materials with a keen focus on grammar, style, spelling, consistency and content accuracy.  

  • Supports the planning of and direct execution of the annual marketing and communications calendar.  

  • Manages day-to-day oversight of all social media and marketing platforms 

  • Oversees maintenance and timely updates of website platforms, including: drafting and reviewing web copy, selecting imagery, requesting designed assets from graphic designer, and uploading to CMS platform.  

  • Manages Mailchimp account, ensuring lists/tags, audiences and subscriber base are organized and updated to meet communications needs.  

  • Communicates needs and directives to other departments for the purpose of building and curating content, with close attention to lead times and needed staff review.   

  • Conducts internal analysis and ongoing research to identify ways we might improve communications and increase community engagement and visitor traffic.  

  • Addresses public inquiries, comments and feedback across online review platforms (Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor, etc.), our social media channels and museum info email account.  



  • 2+ years’ experience minimum in marketing/communications, public relations or nonprofit fundraising 

  • Bachelor’s Degreerequired; course work in professional writing or journalisma plus 

  • Excellent written and copy-editing skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard office software, systems and collaboration tools.  

  • Ability to closely manage and meet deadlines, buffering in time for staff turnarounds.   

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, but also pragmatically and with careful attention to detail. 

  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to represent the organization and work collaboratively with diverse staff, Board, volunteers, vendors and the public. 

  • Ability to work in an open-office environment.  

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of ShareWell and its programs: the Cayton Children’s Museum and youTHink. 



The person in this position must be able to: 

  • Move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, storage shelves, etc. 

  • Lift up to 20 lbs.  

  • Communicate via telephone, video conference, email and in-person. 

  • Move about for sustained periods of time during special events or activities. 



Salary range is $38,000-$41,000, commensurate with experience.
