JOB SUMMARY / ORGANIZATION IMPACT:

 

iApartments is looking for a passionate Computer Engineering Intern to help build cloud-based systems in the multifamily industry. We are looking for someone who is motivated to tackle complex systems and learn new technologies quickly to bring the best possible experience to our users.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

·         Implement software and firmware according to documented design requirements

·         Contribute to future system design and feature requirements

·         Maintain configuration management and documentation

·         Research and identify hardware for use in products including trade analysis based on requirements

·         Perform root cause analysis and critical thinking to isolate and debug systems to correct issues in a timely manner

·         Consistently act as an advocate for the end-user, ensuring a high-quality user experience, and recommending improvements or revisions to the engineering team

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 

·         Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Computer Engineering

·         0-2 years of experience in low-level software development on integrated circuits (e.g. C-Programming, x86)

·         0-2 years of experience in software development using a high-level language (e.g., Java, C#, Python)

·         0-2 years of experience in electrical characteristics including circuit design, isolation, and timing

·         Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

·         Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail

·         Ability to work in fast paced environment within a small team that collaborates with multiple teams working on multiple projects

·         Capable of learning new technologies at an accelerated level

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 

·         Experience using configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Subversion, Mercurial)

·         Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles

·         Hands on experience with JIRA SCRUM/Agile development environment

·         Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) systems including IoT Core, Lambdas, and DynamoDB

·         Experience with IoT frameworks including MQTT messaging

·         Experience with common software and system design patterns
