Position Overview:

The Associate Media Director of Search at Mediasmith is responsible for leading all aspects of the paid search team. This role requires an ability to be strategic and work closely with knowledgeable clients, while ensuring flawless execution from the paid search team. This role will lead a team of supervisors, specialists, and analysts for all paid search and shopping (PLA) efforts as part of a media AOR assignment for a nationally recognized retail brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead as point-of-contact on client discussions for campaign optimizations, testing, new offerings, and campaign initiatives
  • Present campaign performance to key stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable manner
  • High level participation in search media planning and campaign execution based on client objectives
  • Develop and maintain expert understanding of client business, relative to the growth of the search practice and effectively communicate to team members
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks by department supervisors. This includes time-tracking, adherence to documentation of tasks in project management software, and completion of all deliverables and objectives
  • Guide and mentor direct reports on paid search best practices
  • Act as liaison with various internal departments to improve knowledge and understanding of paid search
  • Stay up to date with search landscape industry updates and relay details to internal teams and tying into client business


Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors’ degree or relevant experience applicable to the marketing, advertising, and communications industry
  • 6+ years of paid search (SEM) experience with at least 3 years managing a team
  • Proven track record of success in growing and scaling business and operations in previous roles.
  • Experience managing 7 figure plus SEM budgets and achieving monthly goals for spend delivery and key performance metrics
  • Retail experience a huge plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert working knowledge and experience with bid management tools, especially Search Ads 360, search engines (Google, Bing), and the Google Marketing Stack
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and/or Google Sheets, Slides
  • Detail oriented, organized, and exhibit ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and achieve key deadlines and projects
