Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing and maintaining applications using Visual Basic 6, .NET Framework, and SQL Server. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications using Visual Basic 6, .NET Framework, and SQL Server

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to define and implement new features and functionality

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards

Perform unit testing and debugging to ensure the quality and performance of the applications

Participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards and share knowledge with the team

Optimize and refactor existing codebase to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability

Troubleshoot and resolve software issues and bugs reported by users or identified through testing

Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends related to VB6, .NET, and SQL Server

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Proven experience in developing applications using Visual Basic 6, .NET Framework, SQL Server, C++, Winforms, or Delphi

Experienced with modernizing legacy systems

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns

Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures

Experience with database design, optimization, and performance tuning

Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban

Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices

Experience with creating and consuming web services (SOAP, REST)
