Systems Advancement Analyst 

Salary range - $60,000-$68,000

FLSA Status - full time, exempt

Location – remote (preferred Austin area)

Reporting: The Systems Advancement Analyst reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives and is part of the Systems Advancement team.

Responsibilities:  The Systems Advancement Analyst is responsible for supporting the ongoing strategic work of TACFS and the TACFS network.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable navigating a mission-driven, multi-faceted, team-oriented environment.

Job duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Work with Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Systems Advancement team, TACFS leadership team and TACFS Board to identify needs and ensure we have data and information necessary to understand the child welfare system and guide decision making
  •  Develop and maintain relationships with TACFS members, board, state agencies officials and staff, and other external partners
  • Create landscape analyses to support a range of projects, including organizational strategic planning, community-based care readiness, and other technical assistance contracts. 
  • Collect, track, and analyze relevant data from national organizations, federal agencies, state agencies, and other available sources to evaluate trends on children, families, organizations, and policies in the child welfare system 
  •  Support consultation and technical assistance to agencies such as strategic planning, CBC (Community Based Care) readiness, T3C, continuous quality improvement, or others.
  • Conduct process and outcome assessments, including working with external organizations and collecting and analyzing data 
  • Provide generalist support on research and evaluation projects, such as assist with interpreting and reporting evaluation findings, quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Respond to data requests from the TACFS team and member organizations
  • Represent and present on behalf of TACFS at state and national conferences, convenings, and other events. 
  • Other duties as assigned

 Required Qualifications: 

  • Committed to the TACFS mission to support child- and family-serving organizations across Texas
  • Bachelor’s degree. Relevant education, training and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for a bachelor’s degree as appropriate
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in child welfare or other social service-related field, including some experience in system or problem analysis and tasks involving use of data 
  • An analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills
  • An ability to translate complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with TACFS staff, member agency staff, and other partners 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities  
  • Goal-oriented and a “quick study” who quickly adapts and adjusts as needed 
  • Willingness to receive training to develop new skills as needed to enhance projects

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Project management skills 
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Ability to produce clear and compelling data visualizations
  • Strong Excel skills
