Salary range - $55,000 - $60,000

This position will join the growing TACFS Learning Team to support the duties for training and technical assistance (TA) projects, with a primary focus on our work with the Office of the Governor’s Child Sex Trafficking Team to help strengthen programs for children and transition-age youth who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and support their healing through immediate and long-term services by continuing to provide evidence-informed, trauma-responsive, accessible statewide training and technical assistance (TA) to diverse service providers on the topic of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE.)

In our work to support best practices through the advancement of programs like community-based foster care, alternative/differential responses, transitioning youth and young adult programs, the TACFS team is also driving systems change to grow CSE prevention, recovery, and healing supports throughout the state. 

Our vision is to continue supporting continuum of care at the local, regional, and state level to support child and family wellbeing through evidence-based policies and practices, ensuring that youth have access to the critical supports and resources they need to avoid, exit, or heal from human trafficking. Specifically, this position will provide administrative and project support for the day-to-day work of the CSEY project, elevating our reach through coordinating and delivering training, consultation, and TA in Spanish and English, both virtually and in-person. This position will also engage in other duties as needed.

Reporting: The CSEY Training Support Specialist (Specialist) will report to the Director of Anti-Trafficking Initiatives. The Specialist will work collaboratively with the Vice President of Learning, TACFS Learning Team, TACFS staff, TACFS CEO, TACFS Board and membership; and with other collaborators including CSEY providers, advocacy organizations, and state and national partners.

Travel: This position requires some travel throughout the year to support the successful delivery of training and TA via consultation, site visits, trainings, professional development, staff retreats, partnership, and coalition meetings

Job Overview: TACFS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic bilingual Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth execution of our projects and providing training to Texas child-serving professionals. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English, with strong organizational and communication skills coupled with a detailed understanding of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and youth.

 

Key Responsibilities: The Specialist will have the exciting opportunity to lead and provide all aspects of administrative support for the CSEY training and TA project, and other training/TA projects as needed. This position will support the overall aim of TACFS and The Center to assure child welfare professionals provide services in a competent, ethical, reflective, and professional manner. The Specialist will work closely with the Director of Anti-Trafficking Initiatives and regularly collaborate with other members of the TACFS Learning Team to successfully manage and perform all day-to-day duties associated with the successful delivery of training and TA.

Roles & Responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination:
    • Engage in coordination between internal and external partners to support the needs of the project from inception to completion.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and cost proposals.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project goals are met.
    • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to collaborators.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
  2. Training and Technical Support:
    • Design and deliver training programs for child-serving professionals and other community members in Texas for use in virtual and in-person settings.                                                                                    
    • Develop training materials and resources in both Spanish and English, including but not limited to announcements of upcoming trainings and marketing materials.
    • Translate existing materials and resources from English to Spanish. 
    • Proofread and edit training and TA resources, including PowerPoints.
    • Conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions in both Spanish and English.
    • Utilize Zoom and Microsoft Teams to deliver and/or host trainings that occur virtually.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs via participants’ self-reported changes in knowledge self-efficacy and make necessary adjustments.
  1. Communication:
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related inquiries.
    • Facilitate clear and effective communication between team members, partners, and collaborators to further our activities in providing training and other services to child-serving professionals.
    • Translate documents and communications to support ongoing training and technical assistance for Texas providers serving CSEY and youth-at-risk, as needed.
    • Ensure all project-related information is accurately documented and accessible.
  2. Administrative Support:
    • Maintain project documentation, including training dates, metrics, and schedules.
    • Assist with vision-planning, research, and documentation to further best practices utilized in the field. 
    • Send pre/post training communications to training registrants and contracted trainers.
    • Schedule trainings, in-person and virtual (Zoom).
    • Prepare training/TA-related announcements for TACFS newsletters/social media.
    • Utilize Salesforce to track touchpoints with other organizations.
    • Perform other administrative duties as required to support project activities.
    • Work closely with TACFS Accounting Team for training/TA billing/invoicing 
    • Provide administrative support for CSEY project meetings including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and other relevant materials, sending email reminders, taking notes, coordinating follow-up tasks.
    • Receive, screen, and respond to training and TA inquiries. 
    • Create basic training proposals for organizations as requested. 
    • Create basic cost proposals to project expenses for CSEY-related travel and training.
    • Coordinate travel logistics for Director of Anti-Trafficking Initiatives and Learning Team as requested. 
    • Schedule meetings with Director of Anti-Trafficking Initiatives and project collaborators as requested.
  1. Collaboration and Outreach:
    • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and subject matter experts to ensure training content is current, relevant, and supported by published peer-reviewed research.
    • Participate in TACFS team meetings, key project staffing, monthly member calls, and other relevant internal and external convenings.
    • Support members of TACFS via emails, phone calls, virtual meetings, site visits, and other activities as assigned.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support the needs and goals of the annual Texas Child Care Administrators Conference. 
    • Other duties as assigned that support TACFS priorities and goals, member priorities, and overall advocacy efforts.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including community organizations, government agencies, non-profits, courts, law enforcement, educators, and CSEY advocacy groups.
    • Building and sustaining relationships with state and national subject matter experts to facilitate the ongoing collaborative nature of our work
    • Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and public speaking engagements.

Required Qualifications:

  • A commitment to supporting the mission of TACFS, our members, and the greater child and youth serving community in Texas through capacity building efforts.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • Proven experience in project coordination and/or training, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of human trafficking issues, including prevention, identification, and support for survivors.
  • In-depth knowledge around trauma-informed care principles and practices. 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences in a wide range of settings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support training and technical assistance efforts. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in social work, public health, public policy, education, criminal justice or a related field is preferred. Experience and skills commensurate with a degree may be considered.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of non-profit operations and grant management.
  • Experience working with survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation and/or personal lived CSE experience.
  • Working knowledge of regional and/or statewide anti-trafficking efforts (policies, best practices, legislation).
  • Working knowledge of Texas child welfare system, including Texas Child-Centered Care initiatives and Community Based Care (CBC).  
  • Experience with a trauma-informed care model, such as Trust-Based Relational Interventions.

This is a full-time position based in Austin with a flexible, accommodating work environment. The position is remote (i.e. primarily work-from-home), and some travel will be required throughout each year.
