Clocktower Ventures
Clocktower Ventures, the venture investing arm within Clocktower Group, is based in Santa Monica, CA. We partner with phenomenal entrepreneurs who have the vision and drive to innovate across our two domains: financial services and climate change. In fintech, our stage-agnostic approach offers investment exposure from the earliest stages of company formation all the way to late-stage growth underwriting. In climate we invest in a diversity of climate and sustainability startups at the earliest stages of startup life.
We are searching for a highly personable, execution-oriented visionary to join our small, entrepreneurial, and intensely collaborative team. A star candidate will be able to hit the ground running in redesigning our capital formation strategy.
What you’ll do:
Architect & execute our capital formation strategy. Your primary focus will be to raise capital for Clocktower’s private market platform, multiple venture capital strategies across fintech and climate. You will work closely with leadership to drive both the strategy and the execution of our capital formation function for Clocktower Ventures. In each fundraise cycle, you will be charged with building out the full suite of materials and lists necessary to execute against our goals. You will bring our vision to life – creating and updating marketing presentations, building out data rooms, and identifying and maintaining prospect lists. Ultimately, this will allow you and the leadership team to successfully sell the product to prospective investors.
Manage relationships with asset owners. You are a person with strong interpersonal skills and you have a unique ability to make an immediate positive impression upon those you meet. Ideally, you will have track record of developing relationships with institutional investors, including investment consultants, pensions, insurance companies, endowments, and foundations. In this role you will be expected to source, outreach, and build relationships with prospective investors across the allocator universe, and then meticulously track and strategically engage with these allocators for each capital raise. As part of the relationship management function, you will also support our investor relations platform, helping us to deliver exceptional client service to our current partners.
Build our brand and elevate our profile. You are the owner of the Clocktower Ventures brand in capital markets. You will be responsible for helping us elevating our profile, with the goal to move the needle specifically within the institutional investor community. In this role, will take the lead in managing our external presence (e.g., our website, strategic PR, identifying and applying to speaker opportunities, etc.) Event ideation and implementation will also be within your purview - ensuring that we execute on thoughtful, curated gatherings that serve to strengthen existing relationships and develop new contacts.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of business development, capital formation or IR experience, ideally in a client-facing role
- You are experienced in helping to secure significant investments from individuals, family offices, foundations, endowments, consultants, and other institutional investors
- Strong product knowledge and understanding of venture strategies across the competitive landscape, with experience discussing investment strategies, complex fund structures and operational aspects of an investment management firm
- You are a “people” person with a bias to action - you have a genuine interest in understanding our network
- You lead with a process-driven approach to relationship selling
- You are relentlessly attentive to detail and display an unquestioned work ethic

Salary Range: $150,000-$250,000. Compensation may vary based on experience, training, and education. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
