Job Description:
Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“Climate United”), is seeking a full-time senior compliance officer and federal grants manager to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive federal grant compliance program with the support of outside counsel. The role will be mission critical to ensuring that money from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund’s National Clean Investment Fund (“NCIF”) is deployed in a manner that meets programmatic and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of a federal grant compliance program to address programmatic and statutory requirements, including those related to procurement, cost-accounting, timekeeping, reporting, oversight and monitoring of subreceipients, Davis-Bacon and Build America, Buy America.
- Be a primary point of contact for the EPA Project Officer.
- Collaborate with accounting, risk, and investments counterparts to ensure a cohesive and integrated compliance program.
- Supervise and help build a compliance team of 10+ employees.
- Effectively communicate compliance processes and procedures across the organization to expand our culture of compliance and risk management.
- Continually test and improve the compliance program.
- Be a positive contributor to our high-performing, no-ego, mission-driven culture.
- Occasionally travel.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including leading the design and implementation of a major U.S. federal grant compliance program.
- Working knowledge of relevant federal requirements (e.g., 2 CFR Part 200 and OMB circulars)
- Strategic thinker with ability to incorporate Climate United strategy into the design of the compliance program.
- Self-starter able to drive complex projects forward in a fluid organization that is ramping up operations.
- Experience supervising federal single audit process.
- Experience managing a compliance team.
- Exceptional commitment to maintaining well-organized and meticulous documentation of the compliance program.
- Bachelor’s degree.
