Job Description
Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“Climate United”), is seeking a Vice President of Information Technology (VP-IT) to oversee strategic IT initiatives crucial for the effective deployment of funds from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund’s National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF). The VP-IT will play a pivotal role in aligning IT strategies with programmatic goals and statutory requirements, ensuring seamless operations and impactful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, own, maintain, and execute the CaIvert Impact / Climate United IT Strategy Plan to support organizational objectives and regulatory compliance.

Provide strategic guidance to the CaIvert Impact / Climate United board and senior leadership on emerging technologies and digital trends to enhance innovation and operational efficiency.

Act as the primary liaison between IT and other business units, integrating their needs into the IT strategy and ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Establish IT governance frameworks to ensure that IT investments and initiatives deliver value and are in line with business priorities.

Develop and enforce IT policies and standards to safeguard data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.

Develop and maintain an internal data infrastructure that provides frequent, quality data sources that can be relied upon for business intelligence, analytics, and reporting requirements with key stakeholders, including the EPA.

Manage IT budget(s), ensuring optimal allocation of resources across projects and operations.

Implement robust cybersecurity strategies to protect company data and maintain stakeholder trust.

Identify, evaluate, and mitigate IT risks including cyber threats and technology obsolescence.

Oversee staffing requirements, whether permanent or contract-based, to adequately support business needs.

Negotiate and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions and adherence to service level agreements.

Leverage data and information available to support industry-wide analytics and insights to support the growth of the community and green finance sectors
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Information Technology) preferred.

7+ years of experience in senior IT management roles (e.g., Director of IT, VP of Technology) with a proven track record of leadership and strategic IT planning.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams, foster innovation, and drive organizational change.

Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies aligned with business objectives, including digital transformation initiatives and large-scale IT projects.

Expertise in IT budget management, cost-benefit analysis, and resource allocation.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex IT and business challenges.

Proficiency in managing IT systems in compliance with industry regulations and federal standards, particularly in the financial services sector.

Demonstrated success in negotiating and managing vendor relationships to optimize IT service delivery.

Willingness to travel up to 20%, primarily within the US, and ability to work from the Washington, DC area or be willing to come into the office quarterly for team collaboration.
