Job Description:
Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“Climate United”), is seeking a full-time Director of Program Compliance to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive compliance program for our federal grant initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Director of Program Compliance will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to programmatic requirements and statutory obligations, thereby safeguarding the integrity of our grant-funded projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsibility for the development and execution of Climate United’s strategy against the design and implement a program compliance framework to address programmatic and statutory requirements, including procurement, travel, and compliance with award requirements and regulations.
· Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, risk management, operations, and legal, to integrate compliance measures into program management processes.
· Lead and mentor a team of compliance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective program implementation.
· Conduct regular reviews and assessments of program compliance controls, identifying areas for enhancement and improvement.
· Stay abreast of changes in federal regulations and grant requirements, and proactively adapt compliance strategies as needed.
· Cultivate a culture of compliance and ethics within the organization, promoting awareness and understanding of compliance obligations among staff members.
Required Qualifications:
· 8+ years of experience in program compliance or federal grant management, preferably in a nonprofit or government setting.
· Thorough understanding of relevant federal regulations, including 2 CFR Part 200 and OMB circulars, governing grant-funded programs, preferably EPA funding.
· Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing compliance programs in complex organizational environments.
· Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
· Strategic thinker with the ability to align compliance initiatives with organizational objectives and mission.
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced certification or degree preferred.
· Passionate about the mission and work of Climate United, Calvert Impact, and committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
· Willingness to travel up to 15%, primarily within the US, and ability to work from the Washington, DC area or be willing to come into the office quarterly for team collaboration.
