Job Description:
Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“Climate United”), is seeking several full-time Associates to join our Investments team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual early in their career who is passionate about investing for positive social and environmental impact. The Associate will support all stages of the investment life cycle from initial due diligence to portfolio management. Key responsibilities include financial analysis, project management, risk assessment, reporting, and ongoing loan monitoring. The role requires strong analytical and financial modeling skills, attention to detail, and an interest in impact-driven investment strategies. This individual must also be able to provide a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders and share the commitment Climate United’s mission. The position will work closely with the Investment Officers and Directors and contribute to key aspects of investment strategy and portfolio performance management.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the Investment team in investment analysis and underwriting transactions to drive executions and key decision making.

Take ownership of portfolio management activities, including waivers and modifications, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Support the collection and analysis of quarterly and annual financial data from borrowers, ensuring timely and accurate submission of impact and financial reports.

Help track and maintain portfolio performance metrics, including compliance with loan covenants and progress toward impact goals.

Support Asset Management in loan servicing, including documentation review, as needed.

Liaise with internal teams, borrowers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of investment transactions and effective management of relationships.

Provide support during the loan closing process, assisting in document preparation and compliance checks.

Required Skills:
The ideal candidate brings:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. Coursework in renewable energy, sustainability, or impact investing is a plus.

Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience in finance, renewable energy, or a related field, including internships or relevant academic projects.

Strong financial modeling skills, proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial analysis tools.

Ability to analyze complex financial and impact data and translate it into actionable insights.

Proficient with relational databases (e.g., Salesforce, Airtable, or similar platforms).

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data clearly and concisely.
