Overview: 
Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is seeking a Senior Officer, Quality Assurance to serve as the Quality Manager for the organization. This role will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes, supporting quarterly internal audits, and ensuring data integrity across Climate United’s reporting functions. The Senior Officer will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Internal Audit to manage quality control, conduct data analysis, and support compliance efforts. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee quarterly audits and compliance reviews by sampling and evaluating Climate United's reporting data, ensuring the accuracy of information submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and external stakeholders. 

  • Conduct ongoing quality assurance reviews to identify gaps or weaknesses in policies, procedures, and compliance enforcement. Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to implement corrective actions and support training initiatives. 

  • Provide system improvement recommendations aligning with EPA Quality Assurance Management Plan and associated Quality Assurance Program Plans. 

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on quality assurance audit findings, providing insights and actionable recommendations to enhance data accuracy and compliance. 

  • Support the Director of Internal Audit in assessing internal controls, reviewing deliverables, and evaluating data quality as needed. 

  • Leverage data analytics to identify trends and areas for improvement in data quality and compliance processes, prioritizing those with greenhouse gas (GHG) or lending data analysis. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years in quality assurance, technical/programmatic reporting, program compliance, or federal grant management, preferably within a nonprofit or government setting. Familiarity with environmental data, greenhouse gas (GHG) metrics, or lending data is highly preferred. 

  • Data Proficiency: Strong skills in data analysis, including technical and computer proficiency, particularly with analytics tools or software relevant to quality assurance and reporting. 

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong ability to critically evaluate data and reporting processes. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across departments. 

  • Alignment with Climate United’s mission and an understanding of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles. 

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including quarterly visits to the Washington, DC area for team collaboration. 

  •  Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning and handling additional responsibilities in audit support and compliance. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with internal audits or supporting audit teams within compliance-focused organizations. 

  • Familiarity with EPA quality assurance standards or other federal environmental regulations. 

  • Background in data quality management, data analytics, or environmental data analysis, with an emphasis on GHG or lending data.
