Position Overview 

Climate United is seeking a full-time Senior Officer, Loan Administration to join our team. The Loan Administration Officer will play a vital role in managing loan portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering relationships with borrowers. This position is essential in supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Climate United’s initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

Loan Closings / Document Review 

  • Manage loan closings in collaboration with the Investment Team. 

  • Review closing documents to ensure alignment with approved teams and conditions. 

  • Identify and document any issues in collaboration with the investment team as they arise. 

  • Coordinate with borrowers and internal teams (Investments, Legal Counsel, and Risk Management) to ensure all necessary documents for closing are received, reviewed, and approved as required. 

  • Maintain and update the Closing Checklist. 

  • Adhere to established closing processes. 

Disbursement of Funds 

  • Oversee disbursement processes with the support of the investment team. 

  • Review loan and equity documents to ensure compliance with disbursement conditions. 

  • Investigate and promptly address any issues or concerns with the Director of Asset Management and Chief Investment Officer. 

  • Coordinate pending disbursements with internal teams. 

  • Prepare investment disbursements for approval. 

  • Update the servicing system to reflect pending disbursements. 

  • Comply with established disbursement processes. 

Monitoring and Administration 

  • Set up transactions in the servicing system in accordance with closing documentation and approved terms and conditions. 

  • Monitor and follow up on payments. 

  • Ensure proper application of payments and disbursements by collaborating with the Finance team as necessary. 

  • Review and address delinquent payments. 

  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding items. 

  • Prepare and send monthly invoices to borrowers. 

  • Track and manage loan maturities. 

  • Review and discuss any changes in value for non-debt transactions with Investment Officers. 

  • Address borrower requests and follow up for problem resolution. 

General Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to identify requirements and manage the implementation of new products. 

  • Maintain organized electronic loan files. 

  • Ensure all forms and updates are completed for month-end close. 

  • Understand standard monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reports from the loan servicing system and respond to ad hoc reporting requests as needed. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • A strong commitment to the mission of Climate United and a passion for promoting sustainability and equitable energy solutions. 

  • 3-5 years of experience in loan servicing,  or related field, Demonstrated knowledge of loan servicing processes, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles. 

  • Is proficient in Excel, bonus if the candidate is familiar with relational databases and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce) 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with a solutions-oriented approach. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus. 

  • Willingness to travel as needed to support portfolio management and stakeholder engagement. 

  • Based in or willing to relocate to the New York or Washington, DC metro area, with the ability to work from the office regularly for team collaboration.
