Virtual Fitness & Health Instructor (Evenings/Weekends – Mountain/Pacific Time Zones) 

Part-Time 15-20 Hours a week 

Founded in 2003, GiGi's Playhouse Inc.’s mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome and send a global message of acceptance for all. This is accomplished through national campaigns, purposeful programs, and by empowering individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community. All programs are free and are therapeutic or educational in nature. Each one of our programs is designed to work on specific skill development, including speech and language, literacy, socialization, and fine and gross motor skills. GiGi’s Playhouse currently has over 61+ locations across North America and is growing by several locations annually.  

 

Position Summary: 
GiGi’s Playhouse is seeking an energetic and passionate Virtual Fitness & Health Instructor to lead inclusive, curriculum-based GiGiFIT and GiGi’s Kitchen programs and additional fitness classes for individuals with Down syndrome. This part-time position is focused on delivering live virtual sessions during evenings and weekends across the Mountain and Pacific time zones. All curriculum and materials will be provided. The instructor’s role is to bring these programs to life through engaging, high-quality facilitation in a virtual setting. 

 

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Lead virtual GiGiFIT sessions across age groups (Toddlers to Adults), following pre-designed curriculum to build strength, balance, coordination, and endurance. 

  • Facilitate GiGi’s Kitchen Live virtual sessions, promoting healthy eating habits, food safety, and nutrition education through hands-on cooking experiences. 

  • Deliver additional virtual fitness opportunities such as dance fitness, aerobics, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), yoga-inspired movement, and other developmentally appropriate classes based on participant needs and interests. 

  • Create a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive virtual environment that encourages full participation from individuals of all abilities. 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home space for both movement instruction and basic food preparation. 

  • Track attendance and complete required session logs and prepare data for entry into Salesforce. Collect impact quotes and feedback. 

  • Communicate regularly with the National Program Team and participate in scheduled team check-ins. 

  • Ensure program delivery aligns with GiGi’s Playhouse for safety, inclusion, and program standards. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience leading fitness instruction or cooking/nutrition education, especially in adaptive settings. 

  • Comfort facilitating both movement and basic kitchen activities in a virtual environment. 

  • Physical ability to lead active classes with high energy. 

  • Consistent evening and weekend availability in Mountain or Pacific time zones. 

  • High-speed internet. 

  • Clean and appropriate home setup for fitness and cooking classes. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Located near a GiGi’s Playhouse location to allow for occasional in-person training or community engagement opportunities. 

  • Prior experience facilitating programs in a virtual or educational setting. 

  • Familiarity with GiGi’s Playhouse programs, mission, or curriculum. 

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus. 

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

  • Certification or education in fitness, adaptive PE, nutrition, culinary arts, health education, or related fields.
