USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.
USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves multiple constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, parents of rowers, masters rowers, adaptive rowers, collegiate rowers, indoor rowers and, most recently, coastal rowers.

Job Summary:
USRowing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join the High-Performance Pathways Program. This part-time position will provide hands-on experience working closely with USRowing’s High-Performance staff to support the development of U19, U23 and senior athletes. The intern will play a vital role in helping to run high-performance camps, identification camps, and managing the athlete database. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in sports management and athlete development. Those interested in a career in coaching rowing would benefit from this experience however need to be aware that this role is administrative rather than coaching based.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with U19, U23, and Senior High-Performance Camps: Support in planning, organizing, and running the logistics of high-performance camps, including registration, camp scheduling, and on-site coordination.

Identification Camps: Help with the setup and execution of athlete identification camps, ensuring proper communication with athletes, coaches, and stakeholders.

Athlete Database Management: Maintain and update athlete records, track progress, and ensure accurate data entry for both U19, U23, and senior athletes.

Communication: Assist with outreach to athletes, parents, coaches, and other stakeholders to provide information, answer inquiries, and disseminate updates.

Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to USRowing’s high-performance staff, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and preparing reports.

Event Coordination: Help coordinate and manage logistics for events, such as talent identification, tryouts, or special high-performance events.

Tracking Athlete Progress: Monitor athlete training and development, updating records as needed to track progress and potential.
Qualifications:

Current student or recent graduate in sports management, kinesiology, exercise science, business administration, or a related field

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms)

Interest in rowing, athlete development, or Olympic sports preferred

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a remote or hybrid work environment

Comfortable working independently and taking initiative

Experience with data management or CRM systems is a plus

Previous rowing or coaching experience is helpful, but not required

This is a contractor position that will pay $1,000 monthly
