USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.   

USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves a diverse array of constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, masters rowers, national team athletes, collegiate rowers, adaptive rowers, and coastal rowers.

Job Summary: 

As a Selection Development Camp Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the camp's operational aspects, with a strong emphasis on athlete development. You'll work closely with coaching staff to facilitate an environment that fosters both individual and team growth. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of emerging rowing talent and assisting in the management of an international regatta. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Athlete Supervision and Transportation: Ensure the well-being and safety of participating athletes. Assist with transportation logistics to and from training venues. 

  • Equipment Maintenance and Upkeep: Collaborate with the coaching staff to maintain and organize rowing equipment. Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition. 

  • Video and Technical Feedback Delivery: Support the coaching staff in recording and analyzing training sessions. Assist in delivering technical feedback to athletes to enhance performance. 

  • Athlete Development Emphasis: Collaborate with coaches to implement athlete development strategies. Facilitate activities that contribute to the overall growth and improvement of participating athletes. 

  • Parent Communication: Act as a liaison between parents and the coaching staff. Provide updates on camp activities, schedules, and any relevant information. 

  • Camp Administration: Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling, record-keeping, and coordinating logistics for camp activities. 

Qualifications: 

  • Enthusiastic and team-oriented individual with a passion for rowing. 

  • Strong organizational and communication skills. 

  • Level 1 Coach Certification is required. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

  • Previous experience in rowing, coaching, or camp administration is a plus. 

  • Availability for the entire duration of the Selection Development Camp. 

Salary Range: $2,500
