USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.
USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves a diverse array of constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, masters rowers, national team athletes, collegiate rowers, adaptive rowers, and coastal rowers.

Job Summary:
USRowing is seeking dedicated and experienced U19 Selection Development Assistant Coaches for both the men's and women's Camp. Assistant Coaches will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Coaches in managing and coaching athletes, creating a positive and educational environment, and contributing to the overall success of the U19 Selection Development Camp and coaching athletes in our inaugural international regatta.
Key Responsibilities:

Athlete Coaching and Development: Assist in coaching and developing athletes in alignment with the camp's training program and long-term athlete development principles.

Collaboration with Coaching Team: Work collaboratively with the Selection Development Camp Head Coaches and fellow Assistant Coaches to ensure a cohesive and effective coaching unit. It is also expected that all coaches will work collaboratively with the U19 National Team Coaches to create a unified coaching team for all USRowing athletes on campus at Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.

Adherence to Camp Principles: Implement coaching strategies that adhere to long-term athlete development principles, focusing on holistic athlete improvement.

Safe and Positive Environment: Contribute to creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment that prioritizes athlete welfare, growth, and education.

Communication: Effectively communicate with athletes, coaching staff, and USRowing leadership to ensure clear and efficient information flow.

Coaching at International Regatta: Coach teams at the inaugural international regatta. Ensure that coaching approaches align with the overall team strategy and vision set by USRowing and the Head Coaches. Work collaboratively with international team coaches.

Availability for pre-camp planning meetings and required training.
Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience in a collaborative coaching environment, prioritizing team cohesion and athlete-centered coaching.

Demonstrated success in coaching junior or collegiate rowers.

USRowing Level 2 coaching certification required.

Strong understanding of long-term athlete development principles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively within a coaching team.
Salary Range: $4-5,000
