Development Manager

Job Description

 

The Development Manager for the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation has energy and passion for the mission and vision of the REC Foundation. This position is primarily responsible for prospecting, researching, securing gifts, and maintaining relationships with significant ongoing donors and prospects to advance the mission of the REC Foundation. The Development Manager should have a demonstrated track record of securing gifts up to $50,000

 


 

Responsibilities

  • Create proposal narratives and budgets as needed to complete the donation process

  • Create gift proposals and packages for current, new, and prospective donors.

  • Conduct donor research as need for prioritization, segmentation, and customization of outreach strategies

  • Cultivate new donor relationships from outreach strategies

  • Maintain foundation, corporation, and individual donor files and accurate CRM records

  • Use Donor Stewardship program to acknowledge and recognize current and new donors

  • Support the REC Foundation Executive Team, CEO, and Board of Directors in prioritizing and managing existing and prospective donor opportunities

  • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to create opportunities for donors and corporate employee engagement

  • Provide regular standing reports and ad hoc reports as needed

  • Assist with the collection of data to evaluate program success

  • Provide continual feedback to help maintain program integrity

  • May assist with additional projects and initiatives as assigned

  • Maintain fundraising reports and database records with accuracy

  • Provide acknowledgement letters and other stewardship activities within a timely manner

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Information

  • Primary Location: Remote or in office

  • Schedule: Typically 40 hours per week Monday - Friday (hours should incorporate the REC Foundation’s Core Hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in your time zone); Specific schedules will be discussed with your direct manager

 


 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 8+  years of relevant work experience in a professional environment; background in marketing, communications, human services, or other related field is preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years as a fundraising manager with a history of securing gifts up to $50,000

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards

  • Success in supporting executive staff

  • Professionalism and quality of work 

  • Ability to interface on a professional level with a variety of customers (co-workers, sponsors, customers, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office products add “and CRM Databases

  • Excellent written and verbal skills; English fluency is required

  • Computer competency and ability to learn new programs

  • Skilled in setting priorities to manage varying tasks/projects and time management

  • Maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive information

 


 

Travel Requirements

  • Attendance at the annual VEX Robotics World Championship for the full duration

    • Duration: 10-12 days, depending on the event configuration and your specifically assigned duties

    • Timeframe: April/May (dates vary)

    • Location: 2024 - Dallas, TX; Future Dates - TBD (the location typically changes every 4 years)

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically (as needed and as budgets permit)

    • This includes, but is not limited to, the REC Foundation offices in Greenville, TX,  REC Foundation events, conferences, in-person meetings, etc.

    • 15% - 20% is expected including the annual VEX Robotics World Championship
