Communications Manager
Job Description
Staff members of the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation have energy and passion for the mission and vision of the REC Foundation. This position is primarily responsible for providing senior level assistance with the management of the designated program(s). This position is primarily responsible for overseeing all communication deliverables, playing a critical role in shaping the REC Foundation’s brand narrative, and enhancing our public image.
Responsibilities

Department and Organizational Strategy: Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and other team members to develop and implement strategic communication plans to support department and organizational goals.

Written Communications: Lead the process of developing, editing, and proofreading written communications. Ensure that all messaging aligns with our brand's tone, voice, and values.

Strategic Insights: Provide valuable insights, industry trends, and an external perspective to elevate the effectiveness of our messaging and communication efforts.

Online Content: Create compelling messaging for social media posts, mass emails, web content, and other online communication needs. Ensure that the organization's voice is engaging and consistent with our brand guidelines.

Online Engagement: Develop creative approaches to connect with our target audiences and drive meaningful interactions. Lead online monitoring and engagement efforts with followers on platforms as needed. Build and maintain a positive online community around our organization.

Email Marketing: Collaborate on the planning and development of email marketing content. Assist in management of distribution lists to ensure targeted and effective communication.

Brand Reputation: Safeguard and enhance our brand reputation with consistent messaging across all channels.

Internal Communication: Facilitate effective internal communication to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with the organization's mission and goals.

Event Support: Provide key support for communication needs during events, ensuring that messaging is accurate, consistent and impactful.

Deliver exceptional customer service to RECF customers

Provide continual feedback to help maintain program integrity

Track and compile individual expense reports on a monthly basis ensuring timely submission

Location: Hybrid - remote and Greenville, TX Office

Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday (Standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST)

Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Compensation is based upon experience and qualifications. Final salary offers may vary.

Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; background in marketing or communications highly desired

5+ years of relevant work experience in marketing, communications, or related fields
-
1+ years of supervisory experience is preferred

Experienced in a work from home setting with demonstrated success in remote work
-
Proactive problem-solving skills that lead to innovative thinking and resolutions
-
Ability to interface on a professional level with a variety of customers (co-workers, sponsors, customers, etc.)

Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office products

Excellent written and verbal skills; English fluency is required
-
Computer competency and ability to learn new programs
-
Skilled in setting priorities to manage varying tasks/projects and time management
-
Maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive information
-
Familiarity with marketing channels, online marketing strategies, Adobe Suite, WordPress, web design, and publishing
Travel Requirements
-
Attendance at the annual VEX Robotics World Championship for the full duration
-
Duration: Typically 10-15 days, depending on the event configuration and your specifically assigned duties

Timeframe: April/May (dates vary)

Location: 2025 - Dallas, TX; Future Dates - TBD (the location typically changes every 4 years)

Willingness and ability to travel domestically (as needed and as budgets permit)
