We are seeking a vibrant, driven, organized, and proactive individual to join us as a Director/Senior Director of Biology and site head of our NYC biology lab. Additionally, you be part of the executive management team for Gotham and 858 Therapeutics.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Director or Senior Director with industry experience in drug discovery and oncology translational biology. The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, or a relevant degree with 10+ years of experience managing translational biology drug discovery teams.

Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Ph.D.+ 10 years’ experience working in translational biology and drug discovery
- A strong track record of leading successful teams, as you will mentor/supervise the NYC biology team and site
- Ability to develop and execute an oncology translational strategy
- Act as a liaison between the NYC and San Diego sites as well as manage on-site and off-site reports within the company and at partner organizations
- Build strong working relationships to maximize the impact of and improve operational efficiency
- Initiate/maintain external strategic collaborations and advisory board relationships to broaden the capabilities of the team
- Oversee CRO Operations
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Demonstrated ability to understand, apply, and evaluate data from cell culture, biochemistry, in vivo data, molecular biology, PCR, and microscopic analysis experiments
- Proficiency with database systems such as CDD, ELNs
- Understanding of mathematical/statistical principles
- Proven technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
