858 Therapeutics is seeking highly motivated and collaborative biochemists to join the Biology group and support small molecule drug discovery efforts for targets in oncology and immunology research programs. The qualified candidate will have relevant and notable experience in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in designing, executing and interpreting enzyme and binding assays using biochemical and biophysical techniques. The candidate will be an integral part of a fast-paced research team with responsibility for interacting with cross-functional scientific groups to progress drug discovery programs from target validation to candidate nomination and clinical development.  

 

Core Responsibilities

·      Provide in-depth biochemical characterization of discovery targets and establish robust screening assays to support medicinal chemistry efforts in developing structure-activity relationships

·      Develop and mentor direct staff

·      Contribute to the development of scientific strategy across discovery programs and therapeutic targets

·      Represent project team(s) by presenting project updates to management team at internal meetings and preparing technical reports and presentations for both internal and external presentation

 

Qualifications

·      BS, MS or PhD with 5-12+ (BS), 7-10+ (MS) or 5-8+ (PhD) years experience in biopharmaceutical industry
