Position Summary

We're looking for a dynamic and skilled Technical Writer to support our Penetration Testing Program for our flagship clients. As the Technical Writer for the Penetration Testing Program, you'll ensure our reports and documentation are top-notch. You’ll drive the written communications that will be delivered to clients and will convey data and directives necessary for our clients to act. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, writing, and exceptional communication skills.

 

The ideal candidate is technically adept with broad and deep verbal and written communication skills.  You must have the ability to collaborate with engineers, distill complex data sets, and create business relevant reports suitable to intended audiences.

 

Responsibilities

  •          The Technical Writer is responsible for generating innovative ideas for content while working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  •          Concepts must be documented and easily understood by a broad audience.
  •          Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
  •          Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
  •          Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
  •          Develop documentation plan and development schedule for identified documentation projects. Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release client deliverables.
  •          Gather and analyze technical information from various sources to create client presentations.
  •          Manage documentation projects effectively to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  •          Proactively escalate project issues, roadblocks, and scope changes as they occur.
  •          Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical recipients.
  •          Provide editing support for all document types, as requested.
  •          Maintain a library of report documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use.
  •          Research changes to documentation and update existing documents, as required.
  •          Solicit feedback for measuring documentation effectiveness.
  •          Conduct user/task analysis to determine documentation requirements with direction from internal teams.
  •          Advise other departments on user interface and writing standards.
  •          Understand, support, and apply effective documentation development and maintenance practices, including the use and continuous improvement of stated processes, procedures, templates, and standards.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  •          Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred.
  •          Proven experience (5+ years) in technical writing position.
  •          Technical communication standards and practices: Adhere to standard technical communication processes.
  •          Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  •          Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.
  •          Proficiency in technical writing, documentation, and report creation.
  •          Talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask probing questions to gather pertinent content.
  •          Use active listening techniques to gather information and delve deeper for more information.
  •          Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
