Brand Manager, Skybound Games

We are seeking an experienced Brand Manager to join the marketing team here at Skybound Games.  In this role, the Brand Manager will oversee the management and execution of the global marketing strategies and product lifecycle plans for console, PC, and mobile titles.  They will also work closely with licensee partners to manage existing relationships for brand assurance and marketing amplification of partner game titles across all Skybound marketing channels. 

 

The ideal candidate for this role will be a creative, analytical, and detail-oriented self-starter who possesses strong multi-tasking and execution skills. This role is responsible for managing effective, innovative, and cost-efficient marketing campaigns, while working closely with our interdepartmental teams in PR, Trade, eCommerce, Creative Services, Content Marketing, Merchandising, as well as globally with our EMEA and Development partners.  While not required, it would be preferred that they have a passion for video games and other interactive forms of entertainment.

 

Reports to: Brand Director, Skybound Games


Responsibilities:  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and manage go-to-market strategies and marketing roadmaps for assigned titles, both upcoming and lifecycle.  This includes developing positioning, audience segmentation, competitive research, and business insights from consumer research and trends.
  • Plan, develop, and analyze brand communications, advertising, social media, and promotional and PR programs to drive P&L goals and core KPIs of the brand, including sales, user metrics, and overall ROI. This will include consulting with management and working directly with members of product development, eCommerce, operations, finance, sales, and wider Skybound teams in strategic planning, forecasting and analysis, creative execution and media planning.
  • Project manage internal and external creative teams to deliver best in class marketing assets such as key art, packaging, branded content, trailers, websites, and ad banners.
  • Manage multiple projects at once with an ability to oversee both strategy and operations to bring campaigns to launch with a keen eye for the consumer POV. This includes the creation and oversight of project management plans, as well as their coordination across multiple stakeholders.
  • Serve as primary brand liaison and advocate with internal Skybound groups, and external platforms (console and PC) and partners to identify potential opportunities and strategic alliances to expand products sales and lifecycle.
  • Develop strong, working relationships with key development team members to serve as the day-to-day contact and advocate between the development and marketing groups.
  • Develop SKU plan recommendations including growth strategy for digital and non-traditional distribution channels.
  • Manage existing licensee relationships including day-to-day execution and follow-ups on requests.  Work closely with licensee partners to manage existing relationships for brand assurance and marketing amplification of partner game titles across all Skybound channels. 
  • Other duties as required.


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Requires a BA in Business, Marketing or Communications.  MBA a plus but not required.
  • 4+ years’ work experience in brand marketing, marketing manager or product manager roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the gaming business across console, mobile, and PC.
  • Experience managing P&L’s, having owned marketing budgets and revenue goals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required with ability to influence key stakeholders and team members in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Ability to navigate varying personalities, have difficult conversations, while being able to work collaboratively to get results.
  • Very organized and detail-oriented while being comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment across multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, performance marketing, eCRM, campaign optimization, consumer touchpoint, and digital/physical retail best practices.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to be a self-starter – but team-oriented when needed.
  • May require some travel.
