Thea Pharma, Inc. (TPI) is the newly established US commercial organization of French-based pharmaceutical company, Laboratoires Théa (Clermont-Ferrand). The company has focused on the development and commercialization of OTC and prescription therapeutics for the treatment of eye diseases for over 25 years.
The position of Associate Director, Commercial Data Management US is a dynamic member of Thea Pharma, Inc. Field Operations and Analytics team. This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to lead the implementation of data infrastructure and business intelligence solutions for the commercial team.
This individual will be responsible for the acquisition, integration, and governance of all commercial data assets to enable strategic analytics. This position will lead the development of business intelligence tools to support home office and field-based reporting solutions. This is a business role and this individual will be required to define their own requirements and translate business needs to technical solutions. This role reports to the Director of Field Operations and Analytics of Thea Pharma, Inc.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Data Warehousing
- Responsible for managing end-to-end integration of data into Thea’s Commercial Data Warehouse from acquisition to reporting including prescription data, claims, shipments, managed care information, OTC data, and field activity
- Act as business lead responsible for translating business challenges into technical solutions
- Build data marts to enable advanced analytics and organize data to feed enterprise-wide business intelligence systems for self-service analytics and data visualization
- Oversee Master Data Management (MDM) process to ensure a single source of truth across multiple data sources
- Manage third party vendors to acquire data and define format for data feeds
- Liaise with IT to develop long term roadmap and ensure operational excellence
- Data Governance
- Own Data Quality Management (DQM) process to ensure timely, accurate, and complete data is delivered to relevant stakeholders
- Lead new data acquisition efforts and negotiate with third parties to access data at reasonable costs
- Define business requirements and maintain documentation for business rules and data warehouse processes
- Define governance plan and align with commercial leadership on key metrics and procedures
- Business Intelligence
- Implement business intelligence tools (PowerBI) to display data for commercial leadership and field teams in a cohesive fashion
- Design dashboards and reports to support tracking of KPIs and sales trends
- Roll out dashboard updates to internal stakeholders and continuously improve deliverables
- Triage and prioritize requests for dashboard enhancements to balance operational needs with long term strategy
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. M.S. in technical discipline or other advanced degree a plus
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial data management roles in a pharma/biotech company
- Experience in ophthalmology/optometric market is a plus.
- Hands on experience with SQL and building data marts is a must
- Hands on experience with Power BI is a must
- Demonstrated ability to present to leadership and large field sales teams
- Project management skills with ability to oversee multiple large scale technical projects and deliver on budget and on time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to connect data to the overarching business questions, and can understand the link between brand strategy and data integration efforts
- Proficient at PowerPoint for presentations.
Travel Expectations:
Domestic and International travel may be required (10%).
