POSITION SUMMARY – Director of Information Technology
Théa Pharma Inc. is the newly established United States commercial organization of the successful global French-based pharmaceutical parent company, Laboratoires Théa, in Clermont-Ferrand.
Théa Pharma delivers a suite of leading established eye-care U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved prescription drugs and OTC, including Zioptan®, Cosopt®, Cosopt® PF, Azasite®, Akten®, and Betimol®, as well as AcellFX™ Acellular Amniotic Membrane and the portfolio of iVIZIA OTC dry-eye drops and hygiene products. December 2022, Théa Pharma received FDA Approval for the only clinically proven preservative-free formulation of latanoprost IYUZEH™ exclusively available in the United States to reduce Elevated Intraocular Pressure (IOP). IYUZEH™ is positioned to launch in mid to late 2023.

Théa Pharma seeks a highly motivated, pragmatic, and results-driven Director of Information Technology with experience in a start-up subsidiary in the Life Sciences sector. Reporting to the U.S. Vice President of Finance and Controller, the candidate will work closely to support the Corporate Headquarters Chief Information Security Officer in building solid relationships with all essential Corporate IT functions.
In the first six months, the candidate rolls their sleeves and takes ownership of the day-to-day U.S. Information Technology needs, partnering successfully with Corporate Headquarters Data Digital Acceleration Partner (DDAP), and managing outsourced vendors. The candidate must be able to solve a wide range of challenges, raise business issues, and implement process improvement opportunities. Théa Pharma offices are moving to a new space with on-site amenities on Wyman St., in Waltham, MA, in early 2023.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Execute the Corporate Headquarters Data Digital Acceleration Partner (DDAP) Roadmap.
· Partner with the U.S. VP of Finance, and Controller, to take ownership of Corporate Headquarters’ DDAP weekly check-in meetings with key outsourced IT service providers
· Build a strong relationship with Headquarters and manage the upcoming Microsoft 365 migrations for a seamless transition and enhanced experience for U.S. users.
· Ensure that all IT infrastructure related to the office is always fully functional with desired user expectations.
· Efficiently improve the U.S. IT landscape to drive the business and upcoming product launch successfully.
· Manage current vendors, procure future, and direct all critical outsourced IT service providers.
· Guarantee that all U.S. Information Security protocols are compliant with Headquarters.
Overall Responsibilities
· Leads development and implementation processes for the U.S. IT environment while partnering with Headquarters.
· Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and optimize the use of information technology.
· Create processes for the intake of Strategic Projects with standards for the vendor selection, implementation, and long-term support of systems.
· Oversee IT Infrastructure Projects and Systems to ensure systems compliance by managing all subcontractors, external IT vendors, and service providers.
· Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
· Manage outsourced Helpdesk vendor to ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance and efficiency.
· Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
· Develops and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
· Manage critical outsourced developers, i.e., ERP (NetSuite), SmartSheet, PowerBI, and CRM.
· Oversee, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization, especially with multicultural dynamics.
· Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals.
· Firm understanding of Regulatory, Compliance, and Audited ERP system environments.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or related field (graduate degree a plus)
· Minimum 10 years of experience working in IT Operations. Minimum 5 years’ experience overseeing IT teams and projects. Certifications and continuing education preferred.
· Positive work ethic, superb communication and organizational skills, high attention to detail, and unquestionable integrity and personal ethics.
· Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the ability to execute and drive process improvements.
· International or the ability to work in a culturally diverse environment is preferred.
· A French-speaking candidate would be a significant plus.
