Position Overview:  

The LED Soldering Technician is responsible for repairing, soldering, and maintaining LED tiles and related display components to guarantee reliable performance. This role requires precision soldering skills and attention to detail to support the performance and longevity of LED display systems used in live events and permanent installations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Soldering & Repair

    • Perform soldering, desoldering, and reflow work on LED tiles, circuit boards, and connectors.

    • Replace defective LED modules, chips, and components using hand soldering and hot-air rework equipment.

    • Conduct micro-soldering for fine-pitch LED tiles.

    • Inspect and verify solder joints meet quality and safety standards.

  • Maintenance & Testing

    • Diagnose faults in LED tiles through error logs, visual inspections, and diagnostic tools.

    • Test repaired LED modules and assemblies to confirm functionality and consistency in color/brightness.

    • Support preventive maintenance programs for LED systems.

  • Collaboration & Preparation

    • Work with production teams to prepare LED walls and tiles for shows and installations.

    • Assist with system setup, calibration, and testing prior to deployment.

  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, soldering work, and parts replaced.

    • Report recurring failures and recommend long-term solutions.

  • Training & Support

    • Provide guidance to staff on proper handling and care of LED tiles.

    • Share knowledge of soldering techniques and repair best practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of soldering/rework experience in electronics, preferably with LED systems.

  • Skilled in hand soldering, hot-air rework, and use of microscopes for precision work.

  • Ability to read schematics and follow repair procedures.

  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment, multimeters, and reflow stations.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Attention to detail with steady hand–eye coordination.
