Job Overview 

We are looking for a Technical Business Systems Analyst (Requirements Gathering) to join our product team.  You will work alongside other members of our product and delivery teams and report directly to the Director of Product and Marketing.  Your main objective is to be someone who works with us to understand what data systems and applicable data elements the businesses and organizations we work with need to have available when implementing a solution with our product.  You will document the customers pertinent sources of data and the important data fields that will be mapped to the various systems Vant4ge uses.  You will help us in guiding our business in implementing our products and processes around our product that meet or improve processes within our clients.  To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users both verbally and in written form. 

This is a hybrid position located in Salt Lake City, UT or Boise, ID.  This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, matching 401k and a wellness benefit.  Compensation is commensurate with experience.  Qualified candidates must be able to pass a reference check and background screen.

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Understands the difference in collecting requirements or eliciting requirements by guiding a conversation 

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions 

  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies 

  • Staying up to date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems 

  • Comfortable looking at technologies that allow software systems to interact (API definitions, data flow documents, data models, etc.) 

  • Basic understanding of data types (string, integers, date times, other) as well as data lengths and the ability to document the findings 

  • Create data mapping documentation on how one system’s fields relate to another 

  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings 

  • Performing requirements analysis 

  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts 

  • Work closely with Product Managers/Product Owners & CIM to document and manage requirements of platform upgrades from creation to release 

  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management 

  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports 

  • Working closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff 

  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff 

  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements 

  • Performing user acceptance testing 

  • Updating, implementing and maintaining procedures 

  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements 

  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users 

  • Complete corporate training on a timely basis 

  • Assist with the creation of and follow critical Standard Operating Procedures and Workflows 

  • Participate in cross training staff as requested 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or business if the business degree had a technological emphasis (I.e. Management of Information Systems) 

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in technical role or technical business analysist position 

  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum Development Environment 

  • Defining User Stories/Story Writing 

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills 

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions 

  • Advanced technical skills 

  • Excellent documentation skills 

  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills 

  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations 

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook 

  • A track record of following through on commitments 

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills 

  • Experience leading and developing top performing teams 

  • A history of leading and supporting successful projects
