Title: Senior Software Engineer, Healthcare

Location: Remote

Salary: $180,000-$200,000

 

We’re hiring a senior software engineer to provide technical leadership around healthcare interoperability standards. A successful candidate will have several years of experience as a software developer working in the healthcare industry, with a focus on modern interoperability standards. This role involves hands-on programming as well as mentoring to the existing, and growing, team.  This role will help lead the development team but will also be integral to everyday development efforts.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • B.S. / B.A. degree(s) in a technical or engineering field, and/or relevant technical training

  • 7+ years of professional experience in developing Applications in or around healthcare

  • Deep understanding of secure coding techniques 

  • Ability to troubleshoot application/security issues

  • Team/Tech lead experience

  • Production development experience in Python 3.X

  • Expert knowledge of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR)

  • 3+ years experience working with modern healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., SMART App Launch Framework, SMART Health Cards Framework)

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of OAuth, data security, and encryption standards

  • Contributor to open source software or blogs/medium posts

  • Deep knowledge of cloud computing

  • Deep knowledge of mobile application development

  • Working knowledge of web3 technologies

  • Active member of HL7 and/or CARIN

 

Responsibilities


  • Hands on developer role  / Individual contributor

  • Working hand-in-hand with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical guidance on healthcare interoperability standards

  • Influence organizational goals and technical strategy as a key representative of the engineering team

  • Working in a collegial and open environment that rewards teamwork, continuous learning and meeting commitments

  • Developing new services, tooling, and designing / implementing new platform infrastructure shared across products

  • Maintaining existing systems by troubleshooting issues, responding to customer issues, and working with an internal ops and BD team to streamline processes and workflows
