Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $100,000-120,000, with leveling based on relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications.

 

This position is a work-from-home role but daily travel out in the field within a 25-mile radius of the program is required.

The Haven at College is an intensive outpatient treatment program focusing on college students based in California with mental health and substance use disorders. Our in person location is in LA across the street from USC. Online we treat college students all across California. But our vision is for every major college across the country to have a Haven at College. Our intensive outpatient treatment program provides direct clinical services that meet the highest level of substance use disorder and mental health care for college-age adults in California. The Haven’s in person and virtual clinical program inspires students to be engaged in their treatment experience by drawing from a variety of evidence-based theories to help them feel supported and understood as they heal and grow. Job Description:

 

The Director of Business Development will play a crucial role in representing The Haven at College to the community and defining how we build collaborative referral relationships and launch and develop new markets. Working closely with the Executive team, the role involves identifying patient referral sources, building relationships with clinical partners, and creating interest in the unique services that The Haven at College offers.

 

The ideal Director of Business Development candidate must possess an exceptional ability to provide in-depth knowledge of, and demonstrate established relationships with, key stakeholders and influential figures within the behavioral healthcare industry. This includes showcasing a robust professional network, backed by a proven track record of successfully accessing and engaging with key decision-makers. The candidate should bring a comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics, coupled with the capability to navigate, and foster connections with prominent individuals, ensuring strategic positioning and impactful engagement within the behavioral healthcare industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as subject matter expert on The Haven at College programs and respond to all requests for general information about The Haven and its programs within a timely basis
  • Act as a consultant for professionals and families looking to access mental health and substance use treatment services for college students
  • Develop and operationalize go-to-market (GTM) strategy for market penetration and new market development
  • Conduct face-to-face marketing meetings, attend networking events, sponsor events and engage in other promotional and outreach activities with potential and current referral sources to drive interest, awareness and leads
  • Initiate phone, mail, email and social media campaigns to help behavioral health professionals learn about The Haven at College and our offerings
  • Interface with referral sources and admissions to ensure seamless client experience and drive conversions
  • Maintain weekly activity logs documenting communications with and information on current and potential referral sources, including information about program structure and areas of expertise, payment accepted, etc. in The Haven’s CRM (KIPU)
  • Conduct monthly reviews with management analyzing accomplishments to include increases or decline of referral sources business
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, multi-task, coordinate projects and record/transcribe general and specific meeting minutes.
  • Synthesize and share market feedback from referral sources, partners, clients, and stakeholders to inform go-forward marketing and treatment offering strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams including clinical, marketing, admissions, and payor operations to deliver on GTM goals
  • Support new admissions goals and manage the team's overall performance

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be based in Los Angeles, California
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of business development experience, including 3+ years in sales leadership
  • Experience in behavioral health or healthcare strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRM (Kipu preferred), and video conferencing technologies
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Self Directed and Internally Motivated for success
  • Strong multidisciplinary team player with experience in managing healthcare relationships
  • Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency
  • Ability to travel locally (within ~2 hours driving distance) for meetings with potential referral partners
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to drive up to 2-hours each way.
