Expected Responsibilities:

 

• Compose, edit, format and proofread letters, email, memos, and other documents using

Microsoft Word, Excel, iManage, and Adobe Acrobat as necessary.

• Interact with, and show compassion to, clients who have suffered the loss of a loved one

and/or are under a great deal of stress.

• Prepare and submit time entries, fees, and expenses for various attorneys.

• Review and process incoming mail. This requires a basic understanding of the filing

system and ability to track which attorney/paralegal is working on the matter.

• Prepare and submit time entries, fees, and expenses for various attorneys.

• Provide backup secretarial assistance to partners, associates and other legal and

administrative staff as assigned.

• Provide support to the Administrative Helpdesk system; completing admin requests

submitted by various staff and attorneys.

• Photocopying, scanning, and saving of documents to cloud-based file management

system.

• Coordinate with clients, external counsel, and other vendors to obtain and exchange

information and documentation related to legal matters. 

• Schedule meetings, basic calendar management, processing expense reimbursements

etc.

• Other administrative tasks as assigned.

 

Essential Capabilities

• Proficient with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and

PowerPoint.

• Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of the firm

(attorneys, secretaries, administration, and other members of staff).

• Notary public or willing to become one.

• The ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

• Must be able to work independently and prioritize work.


Education & Experience

• Associate Degree from an accredited college or university.

• Experience with iManage.

• 2-3 years of working in a legal office environment.
