Job Title:                 Business Support Billing Manager

 

Department:            Services Business Administration (Cost Center 600)

 

Reports to:              Assistant Director of Program Services-Program Compliance, Quality and Business Supports

 

 

Pay: $55K to $65K (exempt)

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hrs/week

 

Purpose of Position - Responsible for leading, supervising, training, and maintaining the daily operations of a team of Services Business Support personnel focused on billing and benefit management for Imagine! Services.  Responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and follow-up of billing practices and resolution.  Responsible for the development of billing policies and systems. Assigns and audits work of Business Support II and IIIs.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides daily supervision and direction to Service Business Support Staff that are responsible for billing and benefit management. 
    • Provides Business Support Staff consultation on day-to-day decisions that may be time sensitive.
  • Responsible for all billing practices including:
    • Ensures timely filing of all billing out of Imagine!’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
    • Ensures all billing meets federal false claims criteria
    • Ensures all denied and held billing is addressed within timely filing practices
    • Assists with claim testing
  • Responsible for developing and managing billing policies and practices
    • Responsible for keeping up-to-date on changing policies at the county, state and federal levels
    • Responsible for collaborating with other departments on system changes
  • Acts as Electronic Health Records (EHR) administrative user for services
    • Responsible for creating EHR practices for billing
    • Responsible for coordinating with other staff on EHR systems
    • Coordinates with IT on system changes to the EHR that are needed for compliance or billing
  • Provides oversight of benefit practices including:
    • Assists with benefit audits and surveys
    • Responsible for keeping up-to-date on changing polices at the county, state, and federal levels
    • Responsible for communicating with the State of Colorado any system issues that are occurring
  • Responsible for analysis of billing and benefits data
    • Responsible for monthly billing reports
    • Responsible for generating analytical data on billing
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Job Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • Experience with Excel/ability to create billing spreadsheets
  • Able to analyze billing data
  • Must meet billing deadlines; ability to work under pressure in order to accomplish time-sensitive tasks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
  • Ability to work with cross-department teams on complex projects.
  • Ability to develop cohesive processes from regulatory documentation.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with various technologies including word processing software, internet-based databases, internal and state specific systems, etc.
  • Effective problem solver.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Moderate understanding of IDD Services and billing
  • Moderate understanding of Medicaid billing and State PAR system
  • Basic understanding of Survey practices
  • Basic understanding of federal and state regulatory regulations

 

          Training/Education:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred

          Experience:

·       1-3 years’ experience in Billing or Long-Term Care Benefits

·       1-3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
