Background:

Imagine! is a $35 million case management and services non-profit company for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a result of the state and federally mandated “Case Management Redesign” efforts, Imagine! will be separating its Case Management business into another stand-alone agency named A&I Avenues effective July 1, 2024. This position will be the accounting department lead for the Case Management Agency. Through July 1, 2024, this position will be part of Imagine! and assist the CFO and existing Controller in separating the accounting and back-office functions of the company.

 

Purpose of Position

Responsible for the oversight of billing, receivables, accounts payable, accounting and payroll systems. Provide leadership to an accounting team. Responsible for financial reporting, financial audits, tax filings and assists in the development of financial policies and systems

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensures all business office responsibilities are completed timely including:
    • Monthly financials
    • Recurring and adjusting journal entries.
    • Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
    • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
    • Payroll processing
  • Directly supervises business office staff
  • Manages billing software, billing activities and troubleshooting denied billing
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital.
  • Completes property and sales tax reporting
  • Establishes, documents, and implements of accounting control procedures
  • Works with external auditor to prepare annual financial audits and 990s
  • Completes daily and weekly cash activity download
  • Conducts special projects and ad hoc reporting
  • Accounting System integration experience preferred
  • Oversee AR, AP, and payroll specialists
  • Serves as system administrator for the accounting system

 

Job Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Ability to analyze financial data with attention to detail and high accuracy  
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple technologies including internet-based databases, Microsoft etc.
  • Intermediate or better Excel skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proactive and productive
  • Experience with billing systems, NetSuite and/or Sage Intacct Accounting system

 

          Training/Education:

  • Accounting degree from an accredited college

 

          Experience:

  • 5+ years related accounting and experience
  • CPA preferred
  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred  
  • Accounting System integration experience preferred
