Purpose of Position – The Billing Manager will lead a team responsible for turning the exceptional care we provide to individuals in service into sustainable funding – thus ensuring Imagine! can continue changing lives for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role isn’t just about submitting claims. It’s about building systems, solving problems, leading people and driving financial excellence that directly supports our mission.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Leads People
- Inspires, coaches and develops the billing operation team responsible for the end-to-end billing for the company.
- Creates a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability by providing daily supervision for the billing operations team.
- Monitors quality metrics, workloads and productivity and provides feedback and direction to the team.
- Financial Sustainability
- Ensures timely and accurate Medicaid, Medicare, private pay and other 3rd party billing in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Analyzes denials, identifies causes and creates and implements appropriate process changes to reduce denials and improve billing accuracy to maximize reimbursement opportunities.
- Process Improvement
- Partner with operations, IT and accounting team to streamline processes
- Build scalable workflows that reduce manual work
- Supports claims testing and audits.
- Stays up to date on Medicaid and other billing requirements in order to ensure billing process regulatory and compliance expectations including federal false claims criteria.
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) Subject Matter Expert – Billing Operations
- Monitors and improves EHR practices for billing.
- Coordinates with internal teams and IT on Imagine’s EHR system, implementing changes as needed.
- Data Analytics
- Responsible for generating and analyzing billing KPIs, data and monthly reports for review by internal teams and management.
- Identifies trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
