Purpose of Position – Strategic leadership role responsible for building and deepening relationships between Imagine! and the communities it serves. Bridges the gaps in disability support services, housing, employment, and community engagement. Develops and executes inclusive outreach initiatives, partnerships, and advocacy strategies to support individuals with disabilities and other vulnerable populations in accessing and maintaining housing. Oversees independent living, the Iris Bistro, employment services, and housing-specific, grant funded pilot programs.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

 

  • Community engagement and advocacy
    • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with local community organizations, housing authorities, service providers, and advocacy groups.
    • Increases organizational visibility by representing Imagine! at public meetings, coalitions, and stakeholder events.
    • Develops outreach initiatives to promote housing, employment, and support services to underserved populations.
    • Advance community-informed advocacy efforts by elevating partner voices, identifying shared policy priorities, and supporting collective actions that influence systems, funding, and practices aligned with the Imagine!’s mission.
  • Relationship management
    • Sets strategic direction and ensures oversight of a comprehensive community partnership strategy aligned with organizational goals and community need.
    • Develops and implements policies and best practices to support equitable access to competitive and integrated employment and affordable, accessible housing for diverse populations.
    • Serve as the primary liaison to community partners, ensuring consistent communication and follow through.
    • Use feedback, data, and community input to improve partnership effectiveness and inclusivity.
  • Program development
    • Develops, implements, leads, and evaluates pilot programs and initiatives in collaboration with community partners. Establishes vision, success metrics, and alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Directs the full lifecycle of programs, from concept through execution, ensuring program design supports strategic goals, funder requirements, and long-term sustainability.
    • Oversees programmatic budgets and ensures optimal resource allocation, adherence to funding guidelines, and identification of scalable service delivery models.
    • Support co-designed quality assurance and compliance strategy, ensuring all community partner services meet regulatory, contractual, and organizational standards while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Advises the Chief Services Officer on current and anticipated matters which may impact staff, clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Directly supervises Program Managers and other community partners leaders, including hiring, training, performance management, growth, and any needed disciplinary action. 

 

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • Extensive knowledge of intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), mental health, and other public assistance programs in Boulder and Broomfield Counties and Colorado.
  • Knowledge of service coordination, housing navigation, and referrals processes within a complex care environment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
  • Ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self.
  • Ability to work effectively with various technologies including MS 365, internet-based databases, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
  • Effective problem solver.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Possession of a valid drivers’ license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.
  • This position requires use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.
  • This position requires regular use of a personal vehicle with liability insurance that meets Imagine! standards

 

            Training/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, psychology, public health, or a related degree required. 
  • Master’s degree in healthcare, human services, healthcare management, business management, or related field preferred.

            Experience:

  • A minimum of five years working within and IDD-serving organization or similar related experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years supervisory experience required.

            Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Regular travel within the Boulder/Denver area.
