Purpose of Position:

Works under the clinical supervision of a Behavior Analyst to provide behavioral services. Effectively utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and best practice behavioral approaches.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides residential and community-based observation and functional assessment data collection.

 

  • Develops recommendations for Individual Treatment Plans based on ABA approaches.

 

  • Attends regular supervisory meetings with a Behavior Analyst to review client care and treatment.
  • Maintains communication with the Behavior Analyst regarding any changes in client level of functioning, significant behavioral incidents, or other issues that affect client’s behavioral status.
  • Communicates effectively with the Behavior Analyst regarding any issues, including service delivery, task assignment, etc.

 

  • Implements behavior intervention strategies and program changes as directed by the Behavior Analyst and/or as decided upon by the treatment team.

 

  • Maintains documentation demonstrating services provided.

 

  • Provides competency-based training in the developed Individual Treatment Plan.

 

  • Under the direction of the program leadership, contributes to the financial viability of the program.

 

  • This position requires regular use of a personal vehicle that meets Imagine! insurance requirements.
  • This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet. 

 

 

Job Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • General knowledge of the developmental disabilities system in Colorado.
  • Basic knowledge of the principles and practice of ABA including evidence-based behavioral procedures and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of the behavioral impact of developmental disabilities, as well as the cognitive, educational, vocational and social challenges encountered by persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
  • Effective and creative negotiator and problem solver.
  • Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet-based databases, etc.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.

 

            Training/Education:

  • Master’s degree in behavioral sciences is preferred. Some master’s level courses are required.
  • Certification as a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or enrolled in a BCaBA or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification program required.  

            Experience:

  • Two years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities highly preferred.

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Regular travel to various locations in the Front Range.
  • Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.
  • Primarily works with individuals in their homes, community or day programs, otherwise office based.
  • Sound levels are generally minimal, with occasional to rare periods of louder noise (e.g., client sound level fluctuation).
  • Regular sitting, standing, bending, and repetitive movements are inherent to the job.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally. This may include files, client supplies, or equipment.
  • Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse, requiring repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and bending may be required for tasks such as attending to client needs.
