Purpose of Position- Supports leadership with the ongoing operations of Imagine! Community Services. Ensures program quality, maintains regulatory and licensure compliance, and contributes to the financial viability of the program. This position is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the participants and maintaining professional relationships with Imagine! participants and stakeholders.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Assists in ensuring program quality of Imagine! Community Services.
- Performs all duties of the Community Counselor and Facilitator as a mentor, role model, and coverage as necessary.
- Represents Imagine! in communicating with providers, serving as community liaison, etc.
- Coordinates program activities, including the activity protocols, scheduling of staff, vehicles and transportation ensuring the efficiency and quality of programming.
- Resolving parent/provider concerns and complaints.
Assists the Program Manager in maintaining regulatory and licensure compliance of the program.
- Maintains current, up-to-date knowledge of all regulatory and licensure issues and changes.
- Assist the Program Manager with program compliance with all standards and regulations, including Imagine! policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tracks data to ensure programmatic compliance.
Contributes to the financial viability and integrity of the program.
- Creates and maintains Program schedules and quarterly publications, confirmations, and registration.
- Responsible for correctly entering and allocating service entries into database.
Supports participants with Behavior Plans
- Works, collaborates, and communicates with Behavior Therapists or Behavior Analysts regarding plans and strategies.
- Implements behavioral plans and strategies.
- Collects data as requested or needed for individuals and plans.
- Proactively communicates any questions or concerns to Behavioral Therapist or Behavior Analyst.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Supports Imagine’s mission in the context of both individual and collaborative work.
- Actively participates in staff/coordinator meetings, workshops, in-services, discussions, etc.
- Maintains and cares for Imagine! property, including supplies, vehicles, etc., being mindful of safety and cleanliness.
- Represents program in meetings and committees, as well as in promoting and marketing, as requested.
- Promotes team morale by being positive and professional.
Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
- Demonstrated skill in working with people with developmental disabilities, preferably in a community-based setting.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in skilled interaction with people who require therapeutic supports.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
- Effective and creative negotiator and problem solver.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks for self and others.
- Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet based databases, assistive technology, etc.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.
- This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.
Training/Education/Experience:
- High School diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services field or closely related field preferred.
- One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
Working Environment/Physical Activities
- Ability to lift 50.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.
- Ability to drive a van with lift.
- Ability to push and pull participants using wheelchairs.
- Ability to physically lift, transfer, and assist participants as related to toileting, personal needs, and activities.
- Activities primarily take place in the community.
- Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations.
