Location: Summit County, CO (FIRC office and in-person visitation within Summit County) 

Hiring Pay Range: $24.00 – $24.75/hr 

Full Pay Range: $24.00 – $28.80/hr 

 

Job Summary: 

The Bilingual Parent Educator is a full-time role responsible for supporting families with parenting guidance, child development education, positive parenting practices, and connections to social supports. The educator builds ongoing relationships with families through in-home visits, facilitating group meetings and workshops, conducting developmental screenings to empower parents as their child's first and best teacher.  Approximately 50% of the role involves timely and accurate data management, including documenting visits, assessments, and referrals to meet program and reporting standards. The program aims to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening protective factors and reducing parenting stressors.

Primary Duties: 

  • Schedule and conduct strengths-based, home visits for a consistent caseload of 22 children and their families with Spanish and/or English-speaking families.  

  • Conduct home visits that prioritize the family's needs – occasionally requiring early morning, evening and weekend hours.  The majority of visits—ideally 90%—should be completed in person, preferably in the participant's home.  

  • Provide parenting support and education while promoting protective factors for families with children through home visitation.  

  • Providing robust resource and referral connections to promote optimal parent-child relationship and family stability using knowledge of FIRC and community resources 

  • Organize and assist with interactive and educational group connections / events for families 

  • Conduct and administer regular screenings and assessments with families, maintaining and entering data within 48 hours of completion using required FIRC databases 

  • Collaborate with partner agencies and FIRC departments to provide families with wrap around services. 

  • Participate in regular check-ins weekly with team leadership to ensure program success 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of child development and positive parenting practices and communicate using a family-centered and strengths-based approach while practicing confidentiality 

  • Take initiative and prioritize work tasks effectively  

  • Complete all required trainings and engage in on-going learning  

  • Support FIRC as needed during special events and outreach efforts 

  • All other duties as assigned 

 

Requirements of the position include: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish required 

  • Coursework in early childhood education or related field preferred 

  • At least one year of experience working directly with children and/or families preferred 

  • Strong technology skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Suite, video conferencing, online data entry platforms, etc. 

  • Have reliable year-round transportation, valid driver's license and proof of insurance, to conduct in-person visits. 

  • Candidates will be subject to a professional reference check, and a post-offer background check.
