Location: Summit County, CO (Four days, 32 hours, in-person, in-office required)
Language Requirement: Bilingual English and Spanish (Proficient)
Full Pay Range: $24.00/hr – $28.80/hr. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and qualifications.
Hiring Range: $24.00/hr - $24.50/hr.
Job summary:
The Financial Empowerment Caseworker is responsible for engaging and assessing family needs and barriers, coordinating supportive services, and assisting with family goals/needs as they arise. The Financial Empowerment Caseworker will build strong client-working relationships and use motivational interviewing and strengths-based techniques in the strengthening families framework and goal setting. The Financial Empowerment Caseworker will provide intensive case management services, including supportive services such as housing and financial counseling, medical and dental assistance, utilities and energy assistance, connection to resources, and client advocacy.

Primary duties:
- Assess family needs and provide ongoing intensive case management and appropriate support under the supervision of the Financial Empowerment Manager and in collaboration with the Financial Empowerment team.
- Implement and deliver Intensive Case Management across all Financial Empowerment programs or grants. Demonstrate “strengths-based” motivational interviewing techniques to create, implement, adjust, and track family goals.
- Conduct follow-up appointments and assessments with families per the CFSA and family development plan.
- Timely communication with landlords, medical providers and partners to help meet clients' basic needs.
- Maintain a caseload of a minimum of 20-22 clients or families as assigned, on a rolling basis throughout the year.
- Utilize internal and external databases as required and enter and track all data ideally immediately, but within 48hrs after client contact. Review and audit data for any trends, errors or areas for improvement.
- Implement the Family Development Framework while ensuring 80% of all appointments are held in person for optimal connection and communication.
- Review assessment progress along with goals and referral follow through with clients on a consistent basis to ensure progress towards stability is tracking forward.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Help coordinate, promote and facilitate Financial Empowerment workshops and Housing Justice Coalition.
- Represent the FIRC and Financial Empowerment Team at community outreach events or meetings.
- Make warm referrals to other internal departments and community partners.
- Actively search out and be open to changes within the program based on best practices, grant requirements, community trends/needs and internal organizational approaches.
- Maintain client confidentiality and understand/uphold all HIPAA related guidelines.
- Assist in training and education of future financial empowerment team members.
- Attend all FIRC required recurring meetings, trainings and events.
- Help cover Front Desk when needed, and coordinate with Financial Empowerment Manger to take one-off client appointments outside of caseload as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.

General requirements of the position include:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
- Ideally 2 years of experience in case management, social work, family development, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience accepted.
- Ability to use a strengths-based approach and communicate with families and clients with honesty, integrity, and a sensitivity to the needs and differences of diverse cultures.
