Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 5,400 TK-College students across 29 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a goal-oriented and organized Video Producer to manage video projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will have multifunctional responsibilities, including scriptwriting, staff hiring, set design, and scheduling. Additionally, you will be responsible for determining shooting locations, editing, and selecting equipment.

Video Producers, also known as Video Production Specialists, oversee the production of videos by planning shoots, organizing schedules, hiring talent, and setting budgets. The Video Producer is responsible for all tasks associated with video production and ensures that video projects meet quality standards, are completed on time, and stay within the production budget.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting in the creation and refinement of scripts, project concepts, and other materials.

  • Creating and managing a budget for all production costs and expenses.

  • Sourcing staff, negotiating salaries, and hiring equipment.

  • Scheduling all tasks within the video production process.

  • Handling and planning for disruptions to the project.

  • Locating, checking, and booking shooting venues.

  • Directing cameramen, set designers, actors, and support staff.

  • Working with editors to oversee the project's finalization.

  • Meeting with relevant stakeholders to discuss the project.

  • Ensuring that the production quality of the final product is top-notch.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in film, media, management, production, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience working on film sets or as part of a production team.

  • In-depth knowledge of video production processes and activities.

  • Skilled at negotiation, and planning.

  • Able to lead a production team and manage several tasks at once.

  • Calm under pressure and comfortable with a fast-paced work environment.

  • Problem-solving skills, deadline-focused, and goal-driven.

  • Meticulous in their work with high standards of excellence.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confident, passionate, and professional.

  • Commitment to BGCP’s mission and vision and working with 9-12th grade youth

  • Familiarity working with students who attend Title 1 schools 

  • Experience building relationships with diverse youth communities and constituents 

  • Ability to motivate through positive reinforcement 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Flexible in navigating a fast-paced environment 

  • Preferred one year of experience working with 9-12th grade youth 

  • Spanish fluency is a plus

LOCATION

Redwood City Clubhouse - Redwood City, CA

 

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 24-29 hours per week  

  • 2pm – 8pm (Monday -Thursday), 1pm – 7pm (Friday) 

  • Weekly team meeting + additional professional development trainings

 

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Employment Status: Part Time-Non Exempt

  • Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)

ONBOARDING PROCESS

  • BGCP will cover all onboarding process requirements

  • COVID Vaccination: Preferred but not required

  • Complete LiveScan background check

  • Undergo a TB test

  • Participate in mandatory onboarding training sessions
