PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Northview Kids Director's primary responsibility is to provide leadership, vision, and creative direction to the Northview Kids Ministry at their assigned campus. This job requires weekend hours. This position is an exempt full-time salary position and reports to the Campus Pastor with a dotted line report to the Family Ministry Pastor. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Oversees curriculum for each Kid’s room on weekend services 

  • Prepares each room for weekend services with supplies needed 

  • Creates and communicates volunteer schedule for Kids rooms for weekend services 

  • Shops for supplies needed for weekend services 

  • Provides training for Volunteers 

  • Plans and executes Volunteer Appreciation event once a year 

  • Invests relationally with volunteers 

  • Attends Campus weekly staff meetings 

  • Keeps up-to-date information of ministry in church database (i.e. Team members, family info, etc.) 

  • Communicates with parents monthly on any events, classes or relevant information 

  • Attends a service each week to stay in tune with the direction of Northview and to continue to develop spiritually 

  • Shows commitment to Cultural Values and Staff Standards 

  • Responds to emails and voicemails within 24 hours 

  • Ensures the success of Special Events Childcare at your campus 

  • Acts as a team-player with campus team for campus-level responsibilities  

  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor 

 

Team Player Duties: 

  • Attends Kid’s Best Practices Meetings once a month 

  • Contributes to assigned Curriculum and Specialty Pod 

  • Prays regularly for Northview leadership and congregation 

  • Strives to improve personal and professional skills by looking for and participating in learning opportunities 

  • Attends The Huddle meeting once a month 

  • Responds to Teams within 24hrs 

 

Family Framework Events Duties: 

  • Teaches the Baby Dedication and Bible Presentation Classes 

  • Promotes and shares the Faith Commitment & Baptism online class 

  • Recruits and trains volunteers to be involved in FX and Family Rhythms 

  • Leads a practice run through of FX the week of the event 

  • Hosts FX Event 2 times during the school year at campus, and serves at 2 FX Events hosted at other campuses during the school year 

  • Hosts Family Rhythms 1x/year, Bible Presentation 1x/year, and Baby Dedication 2x/year 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This position does not directly supervise staff, however, does work with volunteers and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church. The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, 3-5 years of related experience in children’s ministry.
