PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  

 The primary responsibility of the Adult Ministry Coordinator is to support all efforts of the key ministries that help adults at Northview take their next step in discipleship and engagement. This role will champion the value of involvement by leading the process to engage attenders in three key engagement engines and two key landing spots. These five key responsibilities are captured in the Adult Ministry MITs (most important tasks) detailed below. This is a part-time, non-exempt position that requires weekend work and reports to the Campus Pastor. 

 

Discipleship Engagement Engine Responsibilities

  1. NEXT EXPERIENCE 

  • Help recruit people to NE and communicate with those who express interest.  

  • Ensure attendance is accurate and recorded for all NE sessions. 

  • Follow up with attendees to ensure they have found their next step towards engagement. 

  • Assist with Lay Leaders' development and training efforts and be prepared to help facilitate or host NE when needed to  

 

  1. MEN’S and WOMEN’S MONTHLY GATHERINGS 

  • Support and oversee the team of volunteer leaders that lead Valor or That Girl Monthly Gatherings as well as develop and recruit new leaders.  

  • Support and assist in developing campus strategies encouraging men and women to engage with the monthly gatherings. 

  • Ensure attendance and involvement are accurate and recorded for all sessions.  

 

  1. BETTER TOGETHER MARRIAGE  

  • Develop campus strategies that encourage married couples to engage with Better Together and support campus ministry efforts of Better Together as needed. 

  • Work with other campuses to encourage our campus attendees to be a part of events or gatherings.  
     

Discipleship Landing Spot Responsibilities 

  1. SERVING TEAMS 

  • Assist, support, and encourage adults to engage in Serving Teams in order to reach Northview Scoreboard goals. 

  • Work with your campus team to implement campus strategies designed to identify, recruit, train, deploy, and appreciate people on Serving Teams. 

 

  1. LIFE GROUPS 

  • Help grow Flora Life Group ministry reach Northview Scoreboard goals and manage supporting workflows. 

  • Collaborate with Campus Pastor and other Adult Ministry staff to develop and implement a coaching strategy.  

  • Recruit, equip and support new leaders to ensure they feel confident in leading well in a structure that helps leaders and group members become disciples that disciple others. 

 

Other Adult Ministry Responsibilities 

  • Champion the Discipleship Walk and find ways to get people to attend and serve on team. 

  • Use The Rock as the primary database tool for adult ministry activities. 

 

Administrative Duties 

  • Provide guidance as needed. 

  • Assist in baptisms or service hosting as needed. 

  • Support Growth and Life Group leaders with group and project management as needed. 

  • Assist the ministry team in assessing group health and coaching groups needing help. 

  • Verify database has the most up-to-date information for all groups  

  • Attend scheduled staff meetings. 

  • Check and respond to emails, voicemails, and calls within 24 hours. 

  • Show commitment towards Northview’s cultural standards. 

  • Attends scheduled staff meetings and monthly all-staff Huddles. 
     

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This position works with volunteers and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church. Must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles. There may be additional duties and responsibilities required by the employee not listed on this description.   

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor’s degree, plus 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related expertise includes leading volunteers in a large church, specifically in adult ministry, including assimilation, small groups, and volunteer team development. Must have proven experience in leading and shepherding groups and teams.
