PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The primary responsibility of the Adult Ministry Coordinator is to support all efforts of the key ministries that help adults at Northview take their next steps in discipleship. This role will primarily support, assist, and encourage three key engagement engines and two key landing spots for adult discipleship. These five key responsibilities are captured in the Adult Ministry MITs (most important tasks) detailed below. This is a Full-Time weekend required position and reports to the Adult Ministry Pastor.
Discipleship Engagement Engine Responsibilities
NEXT EXPERIENCE:
- Support efforts to ensure the Carmel Campus Next Experience (NE) runs smoothly.
- Help recruiting efforts to get people to the NE.
- Communicate with those who express interest in joining NE.
- Ensure attendance is accurate and recorded for all NE sessions.
- Follow up with attendees to ensure they have found their next step towards engagement.
- Assist with Lay Leaders' development and training efforts and be prepared to help facilitate or host NE when needed.
MEN’S and WOMEN’S MONTHLIES:
- Support and oversee the team of volunteer leaders that lead Valor or That Girl Monthlies.
- Support and assist in developing campus strategies encouraging men and women to engage with the monthlies.
- Ensure attendance and involvement are accurate and recorded for all sessions.
- Develop and recruit new leaders.
BETTER TOGETHER MARRIAGE:
- Develop campus strategies that encourage married couples to engage with Better Together.
- Support campus ministry efforts of Better Together as needed.
Discipleship Landing Spot Responsibilities
SERVING TEAMS:
- Assist, support, and encourage adults to engage in Serving Teams. Help grow serving teams to reach Northview Scoreboard goals.
- Work with your Carmel team to Implement campus strategies designed to identify, recruit, train, deploy, and appreciate people for the Serving Team.
SMALL GROUPS:
- Help grow small group ministry to reach Northview Scoreboard goals.
- Help train, care for, and show appreciation to the small group leaders on your campus. Ensure they feel prepared, equipped, supported, and confident in leading well.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement a coaching strategy.
- Recruits new ministry leaders and coaches to start new groups.
- Implement a structure that helps leaders and group members to become disciples that disciple others.
- Manage workflows for small group placement.
- Communicate with those interested in joining and connecting them with a group.
- Manage follow-up communication related to group placement and onboarding of new group leaders.
Other Adult Ministry Responsibilities
- Champion the Discipleship Walk, finding ways to get people to attend and serve on the team.
- Uses The Rock as the primary database tool for adult ministry activities.
Administrative Duties
- Support Growth and Life-Recovery Group leaders with group and project management as needed.
- Assist the ministry team in assessing group health and coaching groups needing help.
- Verify database has the most up-to-date information for all groups
- Work with the Carmel Group Pastor to build and maintain support infrastructure: database, coaching platform, etc.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings.
- Check and respond to emails, voicemails, and calls within 24 hours.
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Other Duties
- Shows commitment towards Northview cultural values.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not provide supervisory oversight to any staff positions; however, this individual works extensively with volunteers and must understand that volunteers are vital to the church's ministry. The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip, and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree, plus 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related expertise includes leading volunteers in a large church, specifically in adult ministry, including assimilation, small groups, and volunteer team development. Must have proven experience in leading and shepherding groups and teams.
