The operations accounting roles serve the core of our service organization; providing operational accounting services to private equity firms located throughout the U.S. by providing back-office services to private funds ranging from $100M to $4B across venture, growth, buyout, debt and other related products.

Summary Description of the Role(s)

This role is responsible for providing day-to-day accounting for firm clients. Responsibilities consist of bookkeeping across multiple entities, processing payments from client accounts. At the Senior level this person will process, reconcile and review cash, securities and other financial transactions to ensure accurate accounting records for the assigned entities as well as prepare reports in accordance with various accounting rules, Partnership Agreements or client specific requirements.

  • Daily maintenance of client accounting records. This includes journal entries related to payroll, payments, expenses and accruals along with processing and review of accounts payable invoices
  • Provide client service on a range of matters including recording and analyzing transactions, reconciliations, and preparation of financial workpaper packages
  • Preparation and/or review of cash reporting
  • Preparation of payments via wire and checks
  • Maintaining client and investor wiring instructions across multiple entities
  • Monthly or quarterly client financial report preparation, including completion of bank account reconciliations.
  • Assistance in the coordination of annual tax packages
  • Preparation of semi-monthly payrolls using third party vendor
  • Preparation and review of quarterly accounts receivable invoices
  • Onboarding new clients
  • Communicate with clients
  • Participate in client planning meetings
  • Completion of special projects at direction of client and/or management.

This position regularly requires long hours and very occasional weekend work.

Travel

Travel is typically planned and can be periodic to other GPFS offices.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. (Jr. Accountant: Associates degree in accounting or related field or working towards Associates degree with 2+ yrs of bookkeeping experience)
  2. Proficiency with software related products such as Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Master’s degree in accounting or related field
  2. Private fund administration experience
