Role Overview:
As a Security Engineer at Wavelynx, you will be at the heart of our data security operations, focusing on the management and administration of our cryptographic keys. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you'll ensure our key management practices meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, significantly contributing to the robustness of our security framework.
Responsibilities:

Design & Implementation: Develop and oversee secure systems for managing the full lifecycle of cryptographic keys, including creation, storage, distribution, rotation, and destruction.

Server Management: Administer and maintain the key management server, ensuring its high availability, performance, and security.

Certificate Management: Issue, manage, and revoke certificates for various applications and services, including SaaS integrations.

Monitoring & Metrics: Create and maintain dashboards to track key usage, identify potential security risks, and produce actionable insights.

Compliance: Collaborate with the legal team to ensure adherence to relevant key management and data security laws and regulations.

Cryptography Integration: Support the integration of cryptographic solutions in product development processes.

Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to build strong, compliant relationships with our customers.

Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Expertise in Cryptography: Deep understanding of cryptographic principles, key management systems (KMS), and secure key lifecycle practices.

Server Administration: Proficiency in managing key management servers, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

PKI & Certificate Management: Expertise in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management, with experience in SaaS integrations.

Data Visualization: Ability to develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools, with a strong background in data visualization and analytics.

Programming Skills: Strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automation and system integration.

Security Controls: Proven experience implementing and maintaining security controls aligned with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.

Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail, capable of troubleshooting complex issues and identifying potential security risks.

Proactivity: A proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
Preferred Qualifications:

Key Management Systems Experience: Familiarity with various Key Management Systems.

Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Security Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+.
